MikeyD Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 Years ago, CDC decided to split up all of the topics into stupid categories, making you go all over the forums just to find stuff on prospects, draft talk, signings, etc. Can we just go back to the old ways of having it all just be in canucks talk so we can keep new content in a place that is easily accessible again? It was annoying having threads moved and not being able to find threads, etc. and there used to be much more content readily available when it was all condensed into one space. That is my main request. Thank you. 1 Quote

Popular Post MeanSeanBean Posted September 18, 2023 Popular Post Posted September 18, 2023 One big messy topic orgy sounds far more difficult to navigate then each topic having its own nice little room. I ain't tried it, but I'm gonna knock it. 9 1 Quote
Sativika Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 I used to be a moderator in a couple of car enthusiast forums. Even though the membership in those forums were much smaller in number than CDC was/is.......there's still work to be done and it's usually done by passionate individuals who love what they do for said forums. Enthusiasm is key to be a mod! There's always ways to improve, change, alter, etc...how things get done and/or what could be improved etc.Sub categories keeps things organized and allows for easier, faster searches and such. So in short, keeping the "stupid" categories is, in Spock's words......"Logical!" 1 Quote
Secretbeef Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 I think categories and subjects forums are clutch. It makes finding information I'm looking for easier. 2 Quote
The Lock Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 Sometimes during the season, I like the avoid the Canucks section, especially if things are going sour. I don't want to have to avoid the forum altogether in times like that. Hard no from me. Quote
Jester13 Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 I think you're alone on this one, OP. 3 Quote
sashimi Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 Uhhh yeah no way dude. Sub forums are necessary to keep everything organized. If you can't navigate a simple forum, that's on you. 1 1 Quote

You used to have about 10 new topics a day to read into and get information and now you're lucky if you get 1 or 2 because now you have to go about 20 clicks to visit everything. Makes the engagement as a fan of the team much more tedious and annoying but hey I guess people find it difficult to put words into search bars to find stuff. Quote

I don't want to have to see a bunch of nonsense trade proposals and goal song debates while keeping up with he trade deadline (etc, etc) 1 1 Quote

D.B Cooper Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 Sounds like an awful idea. How would one big mess be easier to navigate than being organized? 1 Quote

Popular Post Ribs Posted September 18, 2023 Popular Post Posted September 18, 2023 You can use the dynamic view as well, third button on the right: Select the forums and sub forums you're interested in, and it'll puke out a list of topics from all of them on the left. 1 3 1 Quote

Trades, rumors, for all the hot gossip. Canucks talk for good team concept stuff. The years current draft thread has become one of my favorites and the prospects thread is great to comb through when you're bored. 1 Quote
kilgore Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 (edited) I'd give a pass on this too. For one thing, a lot of Canucks team content would slide off the bottom of the page 1 in favour of other forum content. Its not that much trouble to find other sub forums IMO. Okay, one caveat: It would be nice if trades and acquisitions......strictly on the Canucks moves.....was included on the main Canucks talk page. That topic seems like it should be included in the main discussion board. And then have Other Trade Rumours and Signings as a separate forum Edited September 18, 2023 by kilgore Quote

Provost Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 The most “Canucks thing” that has ever happened is the brass shutting down their fan website because they didn’t like the criticism for the past decade. … then the Canucks immediately storm out of the gate with the best start in years and all is rosy in the world. 1 1 2 Quote
