i don't like the lindholm trade but he was not given a chance in the lineup.. if monahan is in the same situation as lindholm he would be struggling just as bad.. lindholm basically was just given like 6-7 games split with miller or EP and then he was stapled to the bottom 6.. if monahan or toffoli is stapled to our bottom 6 they ain't gonna do anything there. tocchet is never going to give time or another chance for lindholm in the top 6 or pp by the looks of it.. if you are putting suter and mikheyev ahead of lindholm even though they ahven't done jack shit.. it just shows you the coach refuse to give lindholm a chance for whatever reason..

Maybe in 5-6 games a guy like Toffoli doesn’t need more to have an impact…

again chemistry isn't a guaranteed thing. have hanafin been lighting it up? guentzel? player needs adjustment periods especially switching roles or playing with different style of players. you aint gonna have chemistry in 3 games and then switch linemates for another 3 games and then switch again. there's literally 0 guarantees Toffoli would have an instant impact in vancouver the way the team have been playing offensively. since the all star break

Lindholm has not worked out offensively. There is still time. 

And to be honest, I'd rather him find his game late in the season, and knocking our socks off in the Playoffs.

Unlike Loui at least Lindholm wins faceoffs, and is contributing in other ways. It's not like he hasn't had chances, they haven't been going in.

There's always a scapegoat on the Canucks. When Brock was struggling there was cries of "trade him!" The guy has 36 goals and 30 assists, and there still those that scream "trade him!"

Some are still upset at the Hronek trade. I wonder how many on CDC and CFF if they were given a choice between a boat and the mystery box how many would take the mystery box?

If Lindholm outplays what Kuzmenko would have provided we are still a better team.  He can move up the lineup if needed as well.  We need a RH face off guy and fills that roll.

Kuzy provides no defensive skill, its not a knock its just reality. He'd be brutalized in this years playoffs.

Allvin has been improving the team dramatically since he arrived, making more moves than any other GM. Maybe we made the trade that was on the table that was also the only one that didn't gut our future.

Maybe...Maybe not..who knows.....but I'm good with everything they've done..except maybe lindhom instead of Monahan...but time will tell on that one.

I look at it as even if we don't re-sign Lindholm, we've freed up nearly $6M in cap for an upgrade.  Could mean we poach teams that are cap crunched and desperate to sell (see VGK and CAR).  Could mean we acquire assets for pennies on the dollar because of our cap space this off season.  I'll reserve judgment until:

1. We see what Lindholm does in the playoffs.

2. We see what PA/JR do with the cap space.

Ok if we can find a cheap centre, who's under 26, who wins faceoffs, is willing to hit, and play defensively and scores at a higher clip.

Point them out, especially if we can trade a late round pick for him.
