Popular Post HKSR Posted April 8 Popular Post Posted April 8 Not that we really needed "proof" per se, but some people are being extremely hard on DeSmith. DeSmith is not Demko. Canucks don't play the same with DeSmith in net as they do with Demko. It's as much mental/psychological as it is the capabilities of Demko. Canucks are 5-5-1 and have not been able to defeat a playoff team since Demko has been injured: https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/canucks-havent-beat-a-playoff-team-since-demko-got-injured Yes, it has been a bit of a painful month, but the fact Demko has had so much rest before the playoffs is a blessing in disguise. Adding back Lindholm will help as well. Gear up folks. Get pumped up. Demko will be back soon, and the Canucks will get hot for the playoffs with a Vezina calibre goaltender that just had a month to rest up for the run. 5 2 1 Quote

Canuck You Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Letting in 6 goals vs Vegas and LA is not cool, For sure Demmer would have won 1 of those games, Maybe even both. 3 goals should be enough to get you a win or go in to OT...That's why a backup is a ....back-up. 1 Quote
coquitlamdave Posted April 8 Posted April 8 I'll run with this positivity. Demko can come back soon and we get back to that first month. That felt good. Maybe we can beat a playoff team tonight . Quote

Coconuts Posted April 8 Posted April 8 I'm cautiously optimistic, rehabbing and practicing isn't the same as playing games. He may very well have to shake off some rust. 1 1 Quote
-Buzzsaw- Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Yes to OP. We would not be in this position if Tocchet had not overplayed Demko. Coaches knew his history... he is fragile... they should have spelled him with DeSmith more often. Quote
gwarrior Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Hell, I'm just hoping he's back and gets a couple games in to get his feet wet again before the playoffs start. 1 Quote

kilgore Posted April 10 Posted April 10 The one concerning thing is that Demko was eligible to return off of LTIR already. But the team doesn't play him yet. Why? He must still not be 100%. So what will he be by the Calgary game, which is the last game he'd have to play to get at least 2 games under his belt before the playoffs? 99%? 95% 90%? On the other side of the coin, IF he is as close to 100% as can get when he returns, I have no doubts he will step right in and be fantastic almost immediately. Based on previous returns from injuries, he hasn't needed any runway games to get up to speed Quote
