Ronaldoescobar Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 (edited) An absolute legend! A very sad day for Hockey. As Darius said him and Robson were just on another level. RIP Bob Edited April 25, 2024 by Ronaldoescobar 2 Quote

Ghostsof1915 Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 I still think Robson was better. But the passing of a legendary voice. "Oooooh Baby!" Quote
SuchaNuxtalgia Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 Really enjoyed the on-air chemistry that Bob had w/Harry Neale. In their heyday, that was a nice team to hear call a game. Shorty & Garrett had a similar magic. A perfect tandem in the booth makes a great game even better. 1 Quote

kilgore Posted April 26, 2024 Posted April 26, 2024 (edited) He was the GOAT. I would put him even slightly ahead of Robson if I had to choose. The guy had the voice, but it was more than that. He had an incredible prescience to how a play would unfold. Shorty has a bit of this. But Bob was uncanny with that ability. Raising his cadence as the play was developing, all with his own style. RIP Bob Edited April 26, 2024 by kilgore 1 Quote
Smashian Kassian Posted April 26, 2024 Posted April 26, 2024 Legendary is absolutely the best word to describe him, once in a generation. His voice is the track to so many of the greatest moments in hockey history. Condolences. 4 Quote
Rocket-68 Posted April 26, 2024 Posted April 26, 2024 When I think of Hockey Night in Canada and in particular the early days of my introduction to Hockey and growing up watching Hockey, the voice of Bob Cole is in my head. The way he called the game, the passion he injected into his broadcast and the love for the sport shone through. I got excited just listening to him list the team rosters. Rest in peace good sir, Rest in peace indeed. 2 Quote
