Popular Post Bretzky Posted April 29 Popular Post Posted April 29 (edited) Was proud how they won the first game in Nashville and then hadn’t cheered and yelled that loud at home for a goal for quite sometime till Boeser’s game tying hat trick goal in game 4 with less than 10seconds left to play!…another loud one when Lindholm scored the game winner in overtime! And all our top players haven’t really showed up yet, but good stuff we still have a 3-1 series lead now. Stole 2 on the road! Boeser’s got some flow goin’ again! Edited April 29 by Bretzky 2 3 Quote
PureQuickness Posted April 29 Posted April 29 I have been very open about wanting to being wrong about Lindholm. And I'm honestly goddamn happy that I am. Thank you, Lindholm, for picking the playoffs to play better. I retract everything that I said. 2 Quote

gwarrior Posted April 29 Posted April 29 I know this is going to make me sound like a dick, but they had no bussiness winning the last 2 games. But, to their credit, they found a way. Hope we can wrap this up tomorrow!!!!!! Keep the pedal to the metal and the rubber on the road guys!!!!!! 1 2 Quote

On the other hand...the Preds choked so hard to let the Canucks snatch the game away, they had no business winning the 3rd game. 3 2 Quote
PureQuickness Posted April 30 Posted April 30 It doesn't matter if someone had "no business of winning". Winning's winning. Predators were very physical and they had a two goal lead. They couldn't stop Vancouver's pretty passing. None of the goals were "greasy". It was pure skill and perseverance. That said, I acknowledge that the Predators are a good team. They are still in this series, so the Canucks better not let their foot off the gas. That's how teams lose games. Quote
Bretzky Posted May 4 Author Posted May 4 (edited) Can’t say I was overly excited by how the Nucks played in this series but they were strong and found a way to win it, and not blow it! Proud they made the second round, and now at least make it a good season. Games 3 and 4 were big road wins and then they iced the cake with a shut out win in game 6 to take the series. Hopefully this first round series was a good lesson in keeping composer, killing that 4min penalty should help….But the power play has to be better! Zadorov has been fantastic, both defensively and offensively….great addition! Edited May 4 by Bretzky 1 Quote
whcanuck Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Vancouver winning all 3 games in Nashville is very impressive. Anyone discounting how difficult of an opponent the Preds were isn’t giving them their due respect. That team was incredibly disciplined defensively and dragged this series down into the mud for all 6 games. 1 1 Quote

Sure they have a couple misses but their hits have been big. Even some players that seem to have cooled of a bit scoring look good. By that I mean players like Lafferty may not be on the score sheet but has a knack of being in the right place defensively. Management has done a very good job of finding players that fit together. I'm still pumped after last nights game. 1 Quote
PhillipBlunt Posted May 4 Posted May 4 The team earned every inch of the ice during that series. The Predators were a great opponent. Go Canucks Go. Crush those Soilers. Quote

Really? The guy was a stalwart defensively. 1 Quote
PureQuickness Posted May 4 Posted May 4 I gotta say, I love these Canucks. We are seeing more 'unlikely' players that are making the difference. Suter for example with the first goal of the series (I believe) and the last one. What an epic goal, set up by two of our best players. Yes, Pettersson played mediocre for most of the series, but he DID show up the last couple of games. Boeser remains one of our most dangerous players, despite being sneaky quiet sometimes. That play he did was elite with the NO LOOK pass. Amazing IQ. Silovs with the epic shutout, along with two other AMAZING performances (which includes the one loss that is not his fault). We have some great storylines. Now I really want Mikheyev to score an epic goal. I really want him to succeed next series. Quote

I hope Mikheyev is well healed and up to speed to counter McD etal, that’s a need, but Jeez it be nice to see him finally getting on the scoreboard! Hopefully Petey helps both his line mates more this series with goals and assists. And Dakota Joshua making a good mark physically and on the scoreboard would be great, we’ll see…fingers crossed. 1 Quote
