Faber should win it. He's actually mattered to a team and stepped into a harder role. Bedard put up some points, sure, but he was -44. No attempt at complete play at all.

This Hawks team was complete dogshit. It would be a borderline miracle if anyone on that team was a +.

Hmm, not great choices, the boy wonder missed 14 games and was a -44 (okay, he played on the shit hawks).

 

I think it'll be Bedard, the new NHL posterchild.

Not saying Faber is Lidstrom, but reminds me of when Bure won the calder over Lidstrom.

 

Faber is gonna be a fantastic RHD, but it's hard to ignore Bedard on a 26 goal 73 point pace on an absolute abysmal Blackhawks team. 

 

Bedard finished the year with these 2 guys as his wingers:

Faber had the more impressive season imo, it's much harder for young D to step into the league than it is for forwards. It's even more impressive for a young D to step in and be a top pairing guy right off the hop. 

 

But Bedard will get it, most folks likely had him penciled in to win it before the season even began.
