Popular Post Gurn Posted May 14 Popular Post Posted May 14 Sometimes, it takes time, and multiple tries. Even when you get it right, it is still "one day at a time". Hope it works out for this young man. 4 1 2 2 Quote
Coconuts Posted May 14 Posted May 14 He really seems to struggle with it, hopefully he can get the help he needs Quote
NHLer Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Huge blow for the Avs lineup. No pun intended. But really do hope he takes his time to get better. Quote
JoeyJoeJoeJr. Shabadoo Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Wow, just saw this. I mean this happens from time to time, and I hope he gets the help he needs, but has it ever happened in the playoffs before? Especially to such an impactful player? Quote
6of1_halfdozenofother Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Makes one wonder about last year's situation with that woman found in his hotel room... Quote
flat land fish Posted May 14 Posted May 14 In terms of player assistance program what sort of drugs are they testing against? Quote
hockeyville88 Posted May 14 Posted May 14 (edited) Unfortunate that someone with so much talent is struggling with sobriety. There is clearly a history of bad behavior with this guy, and it is evident that he needs to clean up his life Edited May 14 by hockeyville88 1 Quote
chris12345 Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Wow so unfortunate. I wonder what it was? An NHL player on drugs? I hear it's common. Quote

Here is Evgeny Kuznetsov sitting in front of two lines of cocaine, and somebody else is sleeping in the bed too. He denies snorting those lines and says he left the room after he saw them. Yeah right, and pigs can fly... Quote

Yeah right, and pigs can fly... I believe him. I had NHL money I would be snorting far bigger lines than that! As for Nik. I hope he gets the help he needs. Tough time for this to hit him. 1 Quote

Goose Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Suspended w/o pay? That’s a hardline to take and makes me think Val pissed off some people along the way… Quote
-dlc- Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Addiction is so sad. I've seen so much of it in my lifetime and know what an uphill battle it is to cut free of that life. EA Programs are great but the problem is that you can't force someone to change...it has to be their desire to quit. Otherwise it's likely just a revolving door until that person hits their bottom and decides they want a different life. It has to come from within. External pressure and motivation (like a career) just isn't always enough on its own. I hope he beats whatever demons he's battling. 1 Quote
DownUndaCanuck Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Feel for him obviously but that is crazy to think he's been doing drugs over the last few days/weeks and still has 9 goals in 8 games in the playoffs. He's been an absolute monster for Colorado, they're already down 3-1 in the series, surely that's it for them. Hopefully this time sorts everything out and he comes back for the next season/playoffs. DrJockitch Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Failed drug screen after being in the program twice before. Guess we know why he has been flying in the playoffs this year. Surprised it doesn’t happen more often. Quote
