fuzzy
Let's make a splash! To Wpg: 2025- 1st 2025- 2nd Connor Garland To Van: Kyle Connor Too much? Not enough? Flame away!
qwijjibo
Why would Winnipeg move him?.
Guest
Not enough. This doesn't do much for the Jets. They would want solid young pieces and better picks than ours. This would be closer value for Ehlers. Edited May 30 by c00kies
MeanSeanBean
not enough, and the jets have zero reason to trade Connors. If they wanted to trade a winger, they would look at trading Ehlers, it seems he's never fully fit with that team. For the record, I actually think he could be a beast with Petey and a huge get if he shakes free.

Does Wpg think they are close or do they want to reshape their roster? My point is we should explore elite players and go for a difference maker with term. If you think you're close then take a shot. It's not even close to enough. Do you think the Canucks are going to pick top 3 in the draft next year? That's the only way it would even be close. That's all well and good, but you need to make a realistic offer. You don't get those kind of elite players for spare parts.

Exactly! And the Jets could use the draft picks to bring in other players too. Do the would end up with Garlsnd plus at least one other player they want. Like what Allvin did moving Bo for picks that he then used to get Hronek.
fuzzy
I get it, everyone loves Garland. But, honestly who would you rather have: Garland at 4.95 mil or Alex Tuch at 4.75 mil? I'd rather have Tuch or a Tuch like player. My point is now is the time to move Garland for other parts and if it means including him in a trade for someone elite then do it. fuzzy
Btw...I'm not saying we can get Tuch for Garland that was just an example of the value of Garland's cap
DownUndaCanuck
I wanted Ehlers at the draft if we weren't going to get Nylander so here we are - I wonder if we make a play for him and how much he would cost? Ehlers is a dynamic playmaker and boy could you imagine him on a line with Miller and Boeser? Another idea would be with Petey and a big physical grinder like Joshua. Problem is his cap hit is 6M for a 20-30 goal, 60 point small winger. I'd rather just flesh out the extra 1M or so and keep Lindholm.

He doesn’t drive D back through the neutral zone. He isn’t a PP guy (muffin shot) and he’s not a PK guy (too slow). He's got to go and clear off all his cap.
