Popular Post Coryberg Posted June 5 Popular Post Posted June 5 He also revealed that cole suffered a cut to his ankle in game 2 of the oilers series. He played the final 5 games with 10 stitches on his ankle. Thanks for the leadership and helping change the culture cole. Good luck on your next team... https://youtu.be/oT15Gd81xa8?si=m8fTlRW2q165nxL1 8 4 1 1 11 4 1 1 Quote
Popular Post Olli Juolevi Posted June 5 Popular Post Posted June 5 Edmonton series aside, he was really solid for us but can probably get paid more than we can justify giving him. Best of luck. 3 1 3 1 1 Quote
Popular Post PhillipBlunt Posted June 5 Popular Post Posted June 5 Cole was solid when he was here. He wasn't great in the playoffs, but finding out that he had 10 stitches explains some of his choices. All the best to him. 6 1 1 Quote
Popular Post Mike Vanderhoek Posted June 5 Popular Post Posted June 5 Cole was a great add to this team last summer and while you could see him gassed a few times he was pretty solid and probably have to imagine ten times more valuable to the locker room and the team off the ice, would be invaluable mentoring to the younger guys and I think someone like Juulsen. Would have hoped the team could bring him back but he will still garner a $2.5m per contract somewhere. 3 2 Quote

HKSR Posted June 5 Posted June 5 The fact the phrase "We need to go out and find another Cole" resonates this offseason tells us all we need to know about his contributions here. He had a rough series against the Oilers, but now we know why given the ankle. His leadership and experience is more of what we need moving forward. All the best to him! 1 3 Quote
Popular Post Rekker Posted June 5 Popular Post Posted June 5 Cole did what he was brought here to do, was a good Canuck, playoffs aside. I wish him best of luck. 2 1 1 1 Quote
DownUndaCanuck Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Big reason for our turnaround, now we need to find a solid physical 18-19 minute guy who can play both sides and kill penalties. Even if we sign up all our current defenders we'll be down a big one in Cole. Absolutely can't bring him back, but we need to maintain our defensive depth. 1 Quote
JeremyCuddles Posted June 5 Posted June 5 His age started to show late in the season. He did good work for Edmonton. But I blame coaching more than him. It was clear he needed to come out. People will bring up that one gaff by Juulsen. But Cole had 2 goals and 4 assists for Edmonton. Incredible secondary production. We should have sat him. Quote

Juulsen made some errors, but not to the extent that Cole did... 3 Quote
Rounoush Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Had some really bad luck in the playoffs but the guy was an absolute soldier for us. 1 1 Quote

Cole had better numbers than Petey and matched Miller point for point. He'll probably get a 5-year extension from some team... Quote

Helped to re-set the defensive culture on the team. 1 3 2 Quote
Ghostsof1915 Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Playoffs aside, he was more steady than WarGiraffe. Just WarGiraffe found his game with Tocc & Co. Quote
MeanSeanBean Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Huh, thought for sure he'd resign another cheap deal. Best of luck! Quote
nergish Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Nothing but respect for Ian. The guy played well for us in his role. Like others have said, would be happy to bring him back - but he'll make more on the open market than we should conceivably be spending. 1 Quote
