RWJC Posted June 7 Posted June 7 Flyers Rumors: 3 Potential Trade Destinations for Scott Laughton Michael DeRosa Thursday, June 06, 2024 Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Laughton was one of the top trade candidates leading up to the deadline. However, in the end, the Flyers opted to hold onto him for the season. Yet, they are expected to listen to offers for him this summer again. Let's go over three teams who could look to add him now. Buffalo Sabres: The Buffalo Sabres were heavily connected to Laughton leading up to the deadline, and they could be again this summer. They still need an upgrade at the third line center position, and Laughton would, without a doubt, give them that. He would also give the young club an experienced leader. Ottawa Senators: The Ottawa Senators are another team to watch when it comes to Laughton. There is no question that they could use a physical forward who provides offense in their bottom six like Laughton. He would also be a clear option for their penalty kill, which is certainly a nice perk for a Senators team looking to take that next step. Edmonton Oilers: The Edmonton Oilers have been connected to Laughton in the past, and they could look to add him this summer. Their bottom six could be in for some changes this summer, as Adam Henrique, Connor Brown, Sam Carrick, Sam Gagner, Corey Perry, and Mattias Janmark all have expiring deals. Thus, Laughton stands out as someone who the Oilers could look to add to improve their depth. https://www.nhltraderumors.me/2024/06/flyers-rumors-3-potential-trade.html Quote
Alflives Posted June 7 Posted June 7 Sabres should be all in on Lawton. Their current core is selfish. They need to add more than just Lawton though. They need to cut out Dahlin. Make a big trade with the Flyers. Quote
Diamonds Posted June 12 Posted June 12 Depending on the cost, I'd be very interested in bringing in Laughton. He's pretty much an ideal 3C. However I don't think he would be worth getting in a bidding war over. 1 Quote
HKSR Posted June 13 Posted June 13 I had this package proposed should Hronek not be willing to sign a reasonable deal: To VAN Laughton Deslauriers 1st (FLA) To PHI Hronek Laughton plays above his cap hit of $3M. We need guys like that to really push us forward. Deslauriers on our 4th line along with Laughton on our 3rd would help to offset the grit loss from Joshua walking. We then flip that 1st in a package to Utah to dump Mikheyev and acquire another hard nosed forward in Crouse: To VAN Lawson Crouse To UTA: Mikheyev Hoglander 1st (FLA) Hurts to lose Hoglander, but helps that we add Crouse and dump Mikheyev's cap hit. Then I assume we sign Pesce for $6.75M, Debrusk for $4.5M, and Desharnais for $2.5M. This is a team built for the playoffs. Suter-Miller-Boeser Crouse-Pettersson-Debrusk Podkolzin-Laughton-Garland PDG-Aman-Deslauriers Hughes-Pesce Soucy-Myers Zadorov-Desharnais Check out the size of that blue line lol. 1 Quote
Coconuts Posted June 13 Posted June 13 Buffalo and Ottawa make a lot of sense and they have the assets to make such a move, I'd be a bit surprised if he wound up here Quote
