Popular Post JIAHN
Hi All Can you believe I am sick and house bound? Just thought I would throw this out there, as an idea Re-Sign Lindholm.......................8 years @ 7,500,000 6'1" 195 lbs Plays bigger Hronek..........................8 years @ 7,500,000 6'0" 185 lbs Plays nasty for his size......Dillion will help Zadorov........................8 years @ 4,850,000 6'6' 235 lbs we can not afford to loose him Joshua..........................5 years @ 3,500,000 6'3" 206 lbs Energy, scoring, hits, fights, team first player UFA signings Adam Henrique............5 years @ 3,000,000 6'0" 195 lbs Brenden Dillion.............5 years @ 5,000,000 6'4" 225 lbs Josh Brown...................3 years @ 1,750,000 6'5" 217 lbs Buyout Ilya Mikheyev................1st year 3,600,000 savings 2nd year 2,600,000 savings 3rd year 1.550,000 extra 4th year 1.550,000 extra Now, first off. I think Zadorov can play with Quinn Hughes, both can play both sides, and Zadorov, will stop alot of the non-sense that Hughes takes. IMO, Lindholm will take 7,500,000 over a longer term, and I believe Joshua adds that grit and gives a scoring threat, as well. All winning teams have that! It is time that Podkolzin plays up, he is defensively responsible, and will have no problem playing 4th line minutes. (He can move up when needed) Suter Miller Boeser Pettersson Lindholm Hoglander Karlsson/Lekkerimaki Joshua Hendrique Garland Di.Giusseppe Aman Podkolzin Hughes/Zadorov Zadorov/Hughes Dillion Hronek Juulsen Soucy Brown Demko Silovs Henrique, plays a great 2 way game, and is good for 40 to 50 points per season. He is perfect for Joshua and Garland. Dillion is a great team player, still has a decent game and will help Hronek on that 2nd pairing. Josh Brown, looks after that 3rd pairing with Soucy. Now we are tight to the cap, and thank god Abbottsford is close! But if we just take our black aces on the road, We just fit under the cap. More importantly, we add size and skill............and we do not let any of the important pieces go 1

ArmchairGM22
Keep Zadorov $5.25 and term Myers for $3 or under Hronek 6.75 max and term or trade Bleuger $2.75 x 4 Silovs $1.1 x 3 years Sign Guentzel $8.25 x 7 Trade Mikhayev and our 3rd this year to SJ for their 7th to gain cap space. SJ needs some vets and have cap space. They also get a decent pick to help their rebuild. Makes sense for both teams. Let Joshua walk to UFA - Podz can replace him and can add more if given some rope. Play him with Guentzel and Petey and he will shine Sign Trenin $2.75 x 4. He now plays with Blueger and Garland and is Joshua's replacement on that line. Love his intensity, size and Physicality. I think all of these numbers are realistic given players' last contracts, age etc. Maybe someone stretches to $9 for Guentzel but we can match. Yes we lose Joshua but we add elite scoring in Guentzel, keep our huge defense, and add more size and physicality from Trenin. And should Podz take a step we don't miss Joshua at all as we've replaced and added scoring, we've added the same size in Trenin and probably a harder player to play against, and Podz on the top line should be able to put up equivalent numbers, All in all we are better. Key is finding a trade partner for Mik to get that cap space. And I'd be willing to give up a second as well next year if it means signing Guentzel. Ie would you trade a 2024 3rd, 2025 2nd, Mik and Joshua for Guentzel? Of course we would. All this works as I used cap friendly armchair gm to ensure we are cap compliant. And we still have $2.7 mil for moves at the deadline which is alot of cap space. Edited June 11 by ArmchairGM22

Blue looks reasonable, Myers probably reasonable number but I still don’t think we should sign him, the rest are likely all well under and significantly for Hronek and Guentzel. I see Guentzel being a modern Skinner deal. He will go to a bad team desperately trying to get better for a contract they will really regret, sniffing $10M since teams like Utah are trying to do something big and some teams actually have some cap space. Silovs 3X1.1 is interesting. Number is right, probably a year too long for his camp to be happy. Doubt a 3rd gets us out of Mik.

If Hronek thinks he's worth more than 54 million total dollars trade him and bring in a big tough D like Dillon to ride shotgun with Quinn. I don't see Big Z getting 6 million in the open market. Severson signed an 8 year 50 mil contract last year, has consistently put up 30-40pts and is a big RD who can skate. I think many in Van because we love big Z are over rating his dollar value (even he said it). Its all comp based, and he's not getting much north of 5 from anyone IMHO. I suggested adding a second if we have to get off Mik On Guentzel, $10 mil is too rich I agree, but he does have relationships with our management and Tocchet and has a much better chance to win here. I wouldn't go higher than 9 but he's been very consistent in his career, has 2 cups, understands the "Sid way" of preparing and is a huge playoff beast....
