RWJC Posted June 11 Posted June 11 (edited) Canucks Notes: Lindholm, Chatfield, Zadorov June 10th, 2024 at 8:59pm CST • By Josh Cybulski In other Vancouver Canucks notes: Rick Dhaliwal spoke today on Donnie and Dhali about Carolina Hurricanes pending free agent defenseman Jalen Chatfield. Dhaliwal said that if Chatfield reaches free agency the Canucks will have interest, however, he has also heard that the Hurricanes are pushing to re-sign him. Chatfield started his NHL career with the Canucks, dressing in 18 games during the 2020-21 season and registering one assist. He then signed with Carolina as a free agent in 2021 and has been with the team the past three seasons. Last year the 28-year-old posted eight goals and 14 assists in 72 games and averaged 15:12 of ice time per game. https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2024/06/canucks-notes-lindholm-chatfield-zadorov.html#ref=home Edited June 11 by RWJC 1 Quote

canucks curse Posted June 11 Posted June 11 I think they plan to put him with Hughes and think of him as the Joshua of D men physical can skate and good trajectory after late nhl start 1 1 Quote

He might just be a very solid cheaper option for 1st pairing D. Not ideal choice but given our constraints it could work. Quote

Agree they seem as a guy who the could get a value contract : performance ratio out of and he won’t be cheap but I think they feel if they go 3x 3 then they will for sure get their money’s worth he also did a decent amount of pk and 8 goals this yr 1 Quote
gwarrior Posted June 11 Posted June 11 So if we can't land Tanev, he's the back up plan if he gets to July 1. I'm down. Quote
Denman Dragon Posted June 11 Posted June 11 I hope that they get him. I remember liking his play back in the day, and was disappointed when we got rid of him. 2 Quote

I like it. We need Hronek carrying his own pair, or we only get 25 minutes (Hughes on the ice) where the puck can actually get moved up 1 1 Quote

Hughes at 7.85 with Chatfield at 3.15 as our top pairing. Soucy 3.25 and Myers 2.75 as our third pairing. Juulsson as 7. 30 million for our 7 D. 2 1 Quote

flickyoursedin Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Could Chatfield play responsible D on a pairing with Hughes? Give him some term and if he can hang that’s a cheap solution for awhile! 1 Quote
canucks curse Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Get ready for Dillon 3.25x3 Chatty 2.75x 4 Myers 2.75x 3 3 1 Quote
