RWJC Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Wild Rumors: Marco Rossi's Trade Market Heating Up Michael DeRosa Tuesday, June 18, 2024 Since the 2023-24 season ended for the Minnesota Wild, forward Marco Rossi has come up as a trade candidate in the rumor mill. After a breakout season this campaign, there is no question that he should generate plenty of interest. According to the Fourth Period, teams are starting to call the Wild about Rossi, as the Philadelphia Flyers, Calgary Flames, Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators, and Utah are all linked to the skilled forward. When looking at this list, the first thing that stands out is that each of these clubs failed to make the playoffs last season. As a result, it is not too surprising to see teams looking to take that next step having interest in a promising 22-year-old forward like Rossi. Rossi would fit well in the top six on each of these clubs, as they all need help down the middle. In addition, he would work on each of their power plays because of his playmaking ability and improving shot. Rossi appeared in all 82 regular-season games for the Wild this season, where he had 21 goals, 19 assists, 40 points, and a minus-4 rating. It was a good first full season for Rossi, but even with this being the case, it is starting to seem quite possible that the Wild will move him before the start of next season. https://www.nhltraderumors.me/2024/06/wild-rumors-marco-rossis-trade-market.html Quote
HKSR Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Why would Minny trade him? They need more of these kinds of guys with low cap hits but decent production with upside. Makes no sense. Media click bait IMO. 1 1 Quote

Basically though, while Rossi is quite talented, Guerin might be higher on other talent to cement into their top 6 going forward. As such, could be a young player for young player swap that emerges. https://hockeywilderness.com/news-rumors/minnesota-wild/why-are-the-wild-thinking-about-moving-marco-rossi-r29974/ for some reason there have been rumours about Rossi’s future in MIN going back to January of this year. Seems premature to me Edited June 18 by RWJC 1 Quote

Making room for other youngsters coming up is also a weak one. Imagine if we decided we should trade Hoglander just to make room for Lekkerimaki when Lek hasn't even played in the NHL yet (Yurov). Usually teams like to see what they have in a player in the NHL before deciding to move on an ELC. I dunno, just seems like a reach to want to move a 9th OA pick that is 22yo on an ELC and is among your best forwards 5v5. 2 Quote
JeremyCuddles Posted June 18 Posted June 18 This one reeks of BS. Trading a good, cheap 22 year old center? Lol. Either something is very wrong with him or Guerin is a stupid. I get he's undersized, but he's still a good player on the cheap. Unless they think this is them selling high, which doesn't make any sense. Quote
