I'd say Nolan Foote will be one of the guys going to CGY.  Maybe Seamus Casey... ?

CGY probably dipping into the UFA market this year, so freeing up as much cap as possible will help them.

return listed as such

They got the dollar tree zaddy replacement

Jokes not a bad return for a goalie his age that wants out with a NTC

That’s a good deal for Calgary !

It looks like a pretty good deal for both sides. Calgary gets a respectable return for an older goalie with trade protection and a fairly large cap hit, New Jersey gets one of the league's better starters without giving up anything too consequential.

I dunno kinda looks like a low Bahl deal. 😁

Just kidding I think it’s a good trade for a goalie whose best days are most likely behind him. Plus they get even more cap space to work with.

Makes sense.  CGY needs cap space to find guys via UFA and at the same time they are bolstering their future.  They're doing a retool the right way.

Since the Tkachuk trade, the Flames have moved out:

Toffoli

Lindholm

Zadorov

Tanev

Hanifin

Markstrom

In return, the Flames got:

1st Round Pick

1st Round Pick

1st Round Pick

2nd Round Pick

3rd Round Pick

3rd Round Pick

3rd Round Pick

3rd Round Pick

4th Round Pick

5th Round Pick

Kuzmenko

Sharangovich

Jurmo

Brzustewicz

Grushnikov

Miromanov

Bahl

All while maintaining a half decent roster to work with.

I hate to say this but they have done well.

Will most likely add Tij Iginla as well this draft, with 8 picks in the first 4 rounds this year but will most likely be giving up their own pick to MTL next year for the Monahan trade which could bite them hard.

So this will be a big draft year for the Flames as will what appears to be 2026 based on picks garnered via trade.  The Flames could potentially be a 3 year rebuild or retool, depending on your preference of the term.

Could be a quick turnaround if they sign a couple good UFAs (ie. Stephenson and DeMelo)

Top 9:

Huberdeau-Kadri-Kuzmenko

Pospisil-Stephenson-Zary

Mangiapane-Backlund-Sharangovich

Top 4:

Weegar-Anderson

Kylington-DeMelo
