Well our boy has shut it down as a member of NHL Goaltenders.
He had a pretty crazy career here with us.  I would love to thank the guy for the years he gave us.  Especially taking that hit from 1.

Guy had a really terrific peak as an NHL goalie.  Too bad his body fell apart and that he wasn't all that young when he got his shot (28 years old before he played more than 45 games in a season and his previous high other than the 45 games was 33).

 

Voted the 5th, 6th, 9th and 12th best goalie in the NHL by the experts in four different seasons for end of the year awards and honours, and that doesn't include his Jennings Trophy season with the Canucks.

 

I think he had the outside potential to be a Hall of Famer had he got his break younger and spent his prime years on a powerhouse team like Vernon / Barrasso / Roy / Martin B / Fuhr / Billy Smith / Dryden etc.  But a lot of very good and great goalies don't have terrific luck in that regard...Mike Liut, Don Beaupre, Arturs Irbe, Sean Burke, John Vanbiesbrouck, King Richard etc.
