If his game improves, he could be the best value for money contract, like MacKinnon's old contract or Marchand's current.

Yup.  He really found his game after Christmas last year abd went close to a ppg. He even set a franchise record for points scored in a season  by a teenager.  I think it's going to be fun seeing him continue to develop. He only just turned 20 at the end on the season

Guess it depends on his trajectory. I don't like these high end Edmonton/Toronto type second contracts for a guy who just hit 50 in his second year.

Montreal better hope it turns into a bargain.

I would have taken a 3 year bridge deal.  Just like Petey who cashed out on his 3rd contract.  But the big money is tempting when you are in your early 20's.  And he's a power forward so I don't see his numbers taking off like a Jack Hughes...
