I dont hate this. Of all the Oilers players this is one of the few I didn't mind. Big and tough and his game could take a big step under Foote's coaching.

Seems like a lot of quantity over quality today... not sure how it will shake out but generally this has been the Jim Benning approach and hasn't worked out super well.

Decent, big physical RD who plays bottom pairing minutes. We've got lots of decent bottom pairing defencemen now and two of the best top pairing defencemen but no really good 2nd pairing guys so will be interesting to see how we line up.

 

I think Hronek and Hughes will be split to share the wealth and improve these bottom guys.
