Gator
2024-25 2023-24 Winners: @Lethunder Huge shout out to the inaugural Champions the Vegas Golden Knights!.. Coming in as the 14 seed many counted you out, but here you are with your 2nd inaugural championship!!!.. Hell of an accomplishment @Lethunder! I also want to give a major shout out to the runner up TBL and their ex GM @Relyt Krets. It was a hell of a season, and you came so close to pulling it off!.. Going in as favorites is about as good of a position you can get yourself into. Very unfortunate outcome. I think I speak on behalf of the entire league when I say congrats, and thank you for all the hard work you put into the league last year. Really hope it doesn't go unnoticed.. Without you this league might not be here today. Changes going into the 2nd season Many things have been reworked going into year 2. I HIGHLY recommend reading over the new CBA incase I miss a couple of important notes below. - Players must remain on club for a minimum of 72 hours after being called up/sent down - You can now get double retention on players - Waiver claims will be via CFF pm instead of in thread - Team Morale will be used this season, and penalty system has been re worked. Won't begin using the morale system until January 1st, and for that reason extension talks for players with 1 year term left will be put off until then. However you will be getting penalties and things like seeding and PR budget will play a factor in how good your team morale will be come January 1st. - Goalies get 0.1 points per save, and will no longer earn points in playoffs for an OTL - Front Office Changes to departments (check section 6) - All Star month changes (check section 7) - Changes to requesting players to waive their trade clauses (check 3.7) - Compliance Buyouts changes (Check 3.10) COMMISSIONER @Gator AGENTS @Gator - Extensions @Rick Blight - UFAs @PeteyBOI - UFAs @MeanSeanBean - ELCs GFL SPREADSHEET https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1g_4p-nG7wWURf1elV9byKVSbNwSk492KaJRX3ozzjRs/edit?usp=drivesdk DISCORD https://discord.gg/MQPYKUTnD3 ATLANTIC - Boston Bruins - @Sludge - Buffalo Sabres - @JohnnyEhGiver - Detroit Red Wings - @Rush - Florida Panthers - @Herberts Vasiljevs - Montreal Canadiens - @Maninthebox - Ottawa Senators - @MatchesMalone - Tampa Bay Lightning - @Viking - Toronto Maple Leafs - @PeteyBOI METROPOLITAN - Carolina Hurricanes - @Down By the River - Columbus Blue Jackets - @SuperPete40 - New Jersey Devils - VACANT - New York Islanders - @Nucker67 - New York Rangers - @Canuck Surfer - Philadelphia Flyers - @MrCanada - Pittsburgh Penguins - @HKSR - Washington Capitals - @Rusty Shackleford CENTRAL - Chicago Blackhawks - @chris12345 - Colorado Avalanche - @Thrago - Dallas Stars - @Optimist Prime - Minnesota Wild - @MeanSeanBean - Nashville Predators - @BigTramFan - St. Louis Blues - @Master Mind / @Phil The Thrill - Utah Hockey Club - @Bounce000 - Winnipeg Jets - @arby18 PACIFIC - Anaheim Ducks - @NMHockey - Calgary Flames - @Rick Blight - Edmonton Oilers - @Grinch - LA Kings - @Brettzky - San Jose Sharks - @Dion Phaneuf - Seattle Kraken - @PistolPete13 - Vancouver Canucks - @Gator - Vegas Golden Knights - @Lethunder Edited Wednesday at 01:52 AM by Gator 1
Gator
2024-25 GFL CBA Section 1: Scoring Structure Spoiler 1.1 Scoring Table Forwards: Goal: 4 points Assist: 3 points Powerplay Point: 1 point Shorthanded Point: 2 points Overtime Point: 1 points Game Winning Goal: 1 points Penalty Minutes: 0.25 points per minute Shots On Goal: 0.25 points Hits: 0.25 points Blocks 0.25 points Hat-Trick: 3 points Defenseman: Goal: 5 points Assist: 4 points Powerplay Point: 1 point Shorthanded Point: 2 points Overtime Point: 1 points Game Winning Goal: 2 points Penalty Minutes: 0.25 points per minute Shots On Goal: 0.25 points Hits: 0.25 points Blocks 0.25 points Hat-Trick: 5 points Goaltenders: Win: 10 points Overtime/Shootout Loss: 5 points Shutout: 10 points Saves: 0.1 point per save Goal: 99 points Assist: 10 points Penalty Minutes: 1 point per minute *points subject to change every offseason NOTE: Boosts such as captaincy boosts & HIA boosts will always be rounded up to the nearest 0.25. 1.2 Playoff Scoring Scoring Structure will remain the same in the playoffs EXCEPT goalies will not earn points for an OTL. The only difference besides that is you can only use 1 "starting" goalie per playoff round. You can only activate your backup goalie if your starter gets hurt or you decide to bench them for remainder of the playoff round. If you bench a starter at any point you cannot start them again until the following playoff series. NOTE: Your backup goalie can only earn points in games not already started in by your starter. EXAMPLE: If your starting goalie gets hurt or benched during or after game 5, your backup can only earn you points in games 6 and 7 of his series. 1.3 Home Ice Advantage A team with "home ice advantage" will receive a 5% points boost to their points total at the end of the series. EXAMPLE: Playoff series between 2 teams ends… (1) VAN - 100 vs (2) CGY - 102 After the HIA boost is applied it'd be… (1) VAN - 105 vs (2) CGY - 102 It won't be a big impact. A close series is where it'll have its biggest impact. Similar to in real life where home ice advantage really only comes into effect when a series goes the distance. NOTE: No home ice advantage given in the GFL finals. Home ice advantage ONLY affects rounds 1-3 of playoffs. Home ice advantage is only used in the finals to determine a tie breaker 1.4 Captaincy Boosts Players that wear the C & A for your team will give you a boost at the end of the season to help propel you in the standings. In order to be eligible for the boost at the end of the season you must still have your captain's on the team. If you trade them away at any point of the season you will not be eligible for their boost at the end of the season. Goalies are not eligible for a captaincy role. Captain - 5% - 10% Alternates - 5% Captain's & Alternate captain's will earn you a boost of 5% minimum. However, there is a way to have your captain reach up to a 10% boost! When a player hits the 365 day mark as their team's captain they receive an additional +2.5% boost. Given them a total of 7.5% boost. When a player hits the 1000 day mark as their team's captain they receive an additional +2.5% boost. Given them a total of 10% boost. NOTE: Captaincy boosts only get applied to regular season totals. Has no effect on playoff scoring… Also you DO NOT get the captaincy boost from another teams captain if you trade for them. NOTE: Additional 2.5% boosts for the 365/1000 day threshold only gets applied if they hit those marks on or before the final day of the season. 1.5 Stat Tracking Fantrax Section 2: Roster Guidelines Spoiler 2.1 Active Roster Each roster can have up to a maximum of 23 players. Which must not exceed 14 forwards, 8 defensemen, or 2 goalies at any time. As for minimum requirements, you should have no less than 12 forwards, 6 defensemen, or 2 goalies. Must have the minimum requirements met with reasonably considered NHL players. Having a full time AHL guy on your main squad will not fly for long. Failure to meet the requirements can anf will lead to penalties, and (in extreme circumstances) forfeiture of draft pick(s). You will be given a warning along with a time frame to fix issue before penalty is handed out for not meeting requirements. NOTE 1: You must post an official lineup in the thread prior to the start of the season. Failure to do so can lead to harsh penalties. For every day late you will be deducted 50pts and charged with a penalty level of 2. Failure to do so over a long period of time could also lead to forfeiture of draft pick(s) OR termination. When roster is submitted late I will enter it in as it was done opening night, then the appropriate points will be deducted. You can build your team as you see fit, but in extreme circumstances a player may ask for a trade if their role doesn't suit them. Team Morale will also affect a players willingness to play with your team in some circumstances. Especially aging vets that may be looking to chase a cup. See section 5 for more info on team morale. NOTE 2: As for “reasonably considered NHL player” requirements, a player will need to at least have NHL game experience to qualify. If that player is currently in the AHL, but has NHL experience he can only be a temporary placeholder for a spot. In these circumstances you may be given a timeframe to fix the roster. If unable to meet the timeframe you will be given a penalty for “disciplinary action”. 2.2 Team Captains You can only set/change your captain's once per year, and it has to be done any time between July 1st - October 1st. If you don't have 1 captain & 2 alternate's selected prior to October 1st deadline, you will NOT be eligible for the captaincy boosts. For more information on captaincy boosts see section 1.4. 2.3 AHL Roster This is where any of your signed players that are not on your Active roster will go. Anyone in the AHL that is waiver eligible will be placed on waivers automatically OCT 1st 12:00pm pst. After that has happened they won't need to be put through waivers again unless they get called up and sent back down throughout the season. NOTE 1: You cannot have anymore than 20 forwards, 15 defensemen, or 5 goalies on your AHL team at any time. NOTE 2: Given this (NOTE 1) is a new rule, teams that don't meet this threshold during release of the 2024-25 GFL CBA will be given a reasonable timeframe to become compliant with their AHL team. NOTE 3: You can go over your minor league budget during the offseason, but must be compliant when you submit your financials in the offseason. 2.4 Unsigned Prospects Unsigned prospects are players that you have drafted but have never given an ELC to. These prospects will re-enter the draft in 2 years if not signed to an ELC by the date mentioned in the “importantant dates section of CFF”. There is no limit on how many unsigned prospects you can have. 2.5 Salary Cap The salary cap in CDCGFL will mirror the NHL. For the 2024-25 season the salary cap will be set at $88,000,000, and the cap floor will be set at $65,000,000. If we do not have a full 32 team league these numbers may need to get adjusted. A teams active roster should never be above, or below these numbers during the season. If a move is made that will put a team over or under the cap it will not get processed. NOTE 1: If by chance something gets missed and you do manage to go above or below the cap during the season, you will be given a time frame to become cap compliant, If not cap compliant by the time that time frame expires, penalties will be applied. NOTE 2: At no point in the offseason should a team be over 10% of the current salary cap. If any move (trades, signings, etc) is made in the offseason that will put a team over the 10% window, it will NOT get processed. Section 3: Contracts Spoiler 3.1 Contract Limits The most contracts a team can have at one time is 50. Maximum Salary: $775,000 Minimum Salary: $17,600,000 Max Contract Length: If you own the rights to a player, or owned the rights before free agency begins, you can send them a contract for up to 8 years. If you don't own their rights, and didn't own them before free agency began you can only offer a contract of up to 6 year term. 3.2 Restricted Free Agents Players who played less than 7 seasons and is 26 or younger. 3.3 Qualifying Offers GMs looking to maintain the rights to their RFA's will need to submit qualifying offers. A qualifying offer is a 1 year offer with an aav determined by the players last contract. $500k - $1.5M: 110% of last contract >$1.5M - $3M: 105% of last contract >$3M: 100% of last contract A qualifying offer is calculated using their base salary only. Players do not have to accept their qualifying offer. They still have the right to seek a contract elsewhere. However the team holding their rights will have the option to match any contract they agree to, or let them walk for compensation (if required). 3.4 Offer Sheets When free agency opens, GMs will be allowed to send an offer sheet to other teams RFAs. If a player signs an offer sheet the team holding their rights will have 1 week to match after they've been tagged by myself in the thread. If the team declines to match the offer, or misses the deadline they will lose the player, and instead be given compensation based on the AAV of the contract signed by their RFA. • $1,356,540 or less - None • $1,356,541 - $2,055,364 - 3rd • $2,055,365 - $4,110,732 - 2nd • $4,110,733 - $6,166,096 - 1st, 3rd • $6,166,097 - $8,221,463 - 1st, 2nd, 3rd • $8,221,464 - $10,276,829 - (2) 1st's, 2nd, 3rd • $10,276,829 or more - (2) 1st's, (2) 2nd's, (2) 3rd's Teams can only send an offersheet if they have the picks to pay the compensation. They must be their own picks. You cannot use other teams draft picks to pay the compensation. 3.5 Unrestricted Free Agents Players who are 27+ and/or played 7+ seasons (25 game minimum to count as season) will be a UFA. UFAs without a contract are eligible to be signed by any team starting the day free agency kicks off. They will only be able to sign for a maximum term of 6 years, unless they sign with the last team that held their rights before free agency began. If they sign with the team that last held their rights, they can sign up to 8 year term. This is pretty much to give the team with the players rights an upper hand in any contract negotiations, while also giving some added value to acquiring a players rights before free agency begins. 3.6 No Trade/No Movement Clauses A player must be 27 or older to be eligible for a NTC or NMC. NTC: Player Submits a list of 10 teams they will accept a trade to on July 1st. Player will re-evaluate and submit a new list on January 1st. These players can be traded to teams both on and off of their lists. However trading them to a team off their list will be more consequential. See section 5 for more details on penalties. NMC: Player submits a list of 5 teams they will accept a trade to on July 1st. Player will re-evaluate and submit a new list on January 1st. These Players can only be traded to teams on their list, and if they do get traded you will be hit with a penalty (see section 5) NOTE 1: Giving out these Clauses are more risk inducing than ever before. When giving out these trade Clauses you need to keep in mind they signal to the player that you plan to honor this contract. If you look to trade them while they have one of these Clauses you will be hit with a penalty that will negatively effect your team morale according to section 5. 3.8 Extensions Teams with pending RFAs and UFAs (on final year of their deal) are allowed to speak to an agent about an extension. Team Morale will play a major factor in a players willingness to extend with your club. If your low on the team morale scale you may have trouble extending UFAs, and you may have trouble signing your youth to long term deals. Make sure to keep your team morale up! Extension talks for the 2024-25 season will be held off until no earlier than January 1st to get enough data in the team morale system to justify using. IMPORTANT NOTE: An agent holds the right to make decisions under their own discretion. Getting upset and insulting an agent or making call out posts can lead to disciplinary action. Anything from penalty level 1, to forfeiture of draft pick(s), all the way up to dismissal. Punishment will be dictated on the severity of the situation. If you have any issues with the handling of contract talks please reach out privately and we can discuss internally, and work on fixing any issues to help improve the FA process for the future. 3.9 Buyouts Players must be placed on unconditional waivers before they can be bought out. If they clear unconditional waivers, you can buy out the remainder of their contract. Buying out a contract will add 1 year of AAV to the books, but it will reduce the AAV depending on the age of player at the time of the buyout. Buyouts can only be done during the specified buyout periods listed under “important dates” in the CFF thread. 25 or younger - 33% of AAV 26 or older - 50% of AAV 3.10 Compliance Buyouts Only a newly hired GM will be awarded a compliance buyout. When a new GM gets hired they are given the ability to use 1 compliance buyout. This buyout can only happen during their first offseason, and cannot be done mid-season. If a player is bought out with a compliance buyout their contract will be completely taken off of the books. NOTE: Any players bought out with the compliance buyout will first need to pass through unconditional waivers. If they make it through, you can buy them out and completely rid your team of the contract. 3.11 Entry Level Contracts ELCs will be signed using the following system. If draft position is different in GFL & NHL we will split the difference. 1st Overall - $3.25m ($950k base) 2nd Overall - $3m ($925k base) 3rd Overall - $2.75m ($925k base) 4th Overall - $2.25m ($925k base) 5th Overall - $2m ($925k base) 6th - 10th - $1.5m ($925k base) 11th - 32nd - $1m ($900k base) 2nd Round - $875k 3rd Round - $825k 4th(+) Round - $775k ELCs come with a maximum term determined by a players age. Players age is determined by what age he is on September 15th of the year the deal is signed. 18-21: 3 years 22-23: 2 years 24: 1 year 25+: No limit NOTE: Players that are undrafted in GFL and are deemed to be free agents (not eligible for upcoming draft) do not fall under these ELC guidelines and will be treated as a UFA in negotiations 3.12 ELC Slides If a player on their ELC is 18 or 19 as of September 15th, they are eligible for the ELC slide, as long as they have 9 or less games of NHL experience, and you have the money invested into your player development department (see section 6.3). If you choose to slide their contract, they will not be eligible to be called up for the remainder of the season. To process an ELC slide request, simply make a post in the thread letting the league know you will be sliding the contract. 3.13 Franchise Tag Teams will be permitted the use of 1 franchise tag per year. A franchise tag stops a player from hitting free agency if a long term deal can't be reached. If a player is hit with the franchise tag they will receive a 1 year deal with an AAV equal to the average of the top 5 players at the position (F, D, or G), or 120% of their last contract. Whichever is greater. NOTE: The franchise tag is the only way a player can earn more than the max AAV. Section 4: Player Movement Spoiler 4.1 Roster Moves All roster moves must be made in the thread as their own post and must be clearly phrased. Not doing this may cause it to not get processed. EXAMPLE 1: WAIVERS: Vancouver places X on waivers EXAMPLE 2: CALL UP/RECALL: Vancouver calls up X EXAMPLE 3: SEND DOWN/ASSIGN: Vancouver assigns X When you recall or send down a player they must remain up or down for a minimum of 72hrs before they can be sent up or down again. This is to keep things a bit more realistic. No team irl is going to be calling up and sending down players daily. NOTE: A player called up or sent down at 12:01pm pst or later (Or after puck drop if game is played in the morning) will be called up/sent down the following day. 4.2 Trading In order to make a trade official one of the GMs must submit a trade call in a message on CFF, tag the other GM(s) & "Gator" in the call. Both GMs must agree to the trade details in the message before it can get processed. Points are not transferred between players in trades. You will keep the points the player got you up to the day of the deal. Trades may take a bit to process, but will be backdated when I get around to them. If trading draft picks, please state clearly which picks are being moved... "TEAM 2023 1st" Trade Deadline: See “important dates” Section on CFF. 4.3 Trading Salaries A team can retain up to 50% of a players salary per year up to a maximum of 3 years. • Max of 3 salary retention contracts per season • Max of 3 reduced salaries per season • Cannot retain a contract if it'll put the AAV any lower than the league minimum ($775k) • You can get double retention on a player, which will ultimately bring his aav down to as low as 25%. However, to do so it needs to take part in a single multi-way trade. You can't get a team to retain salary on a player that you currently own at a later date. 4.4 Injured Reserve The IR system is tied to the financials section of the CBA (see 6.4). Depending on your investment, you may have anywhere between 1-5 IR slots, and have more or less flexibility than others. If you don't invest atleast $30m into the medical department you will only be able to place players on IR that have be placed on IR irl. If you want to be able to place players on IR that are listed as dtd, wtw, or be given special exceptions for certain players circumstances you will need to invest at least $30m to get the dtd+ eligibility. NOTE: At no point can a GM have more than the allowed IR slots filled depending on their investment. NO exceptions made. 4.5 Waivers If a player gets placed on waivers all teams will have a 24 hour window to put in a claim. To put in a claim send "Optimist Prime” a waiver claim message on CFF. If nobody puts in a claim the player can be sent to the AHL, and will become waiver exempt for 30 days. For a player to become eligible for waivers they must meet 1 of the following requirements. Skaters: 22 or younger - 150gp 23-24 - 100gp 25-26 - 50gp Goalies: 22 or younger - 80gp 23-24 - 65gp 25-26 - 30gp Every month this list will reset in reverse order of standings according to fantrax at the time. Every time a team successfully claims a player they are put at the bottom of the list. If a player that has been claimed on waivers in the last 30 days gets put back onto waivers, the original team will have the option to reclaim the player and put them directly into their AHL system if no other team places a claim. However, if another team puts in a claim, they will get the player. Unless the original team is higher on the waiver list and is willing to put player on their NHL roster. On OCT 1st of every year ALL waiver eligible players in a teams AHL system will be automatically placed on waivers. This is to prevent GMs from storing NHL level talent in their AHL system. 4.6 Unconditional Waivers Only differences between waivers and unconditional waivers is the player can be bought out if they clear unconditional waivers, and they are on waivers for 48 hours instead of 24. Section 5: Team Morale System (TO BE UPDATED WITH BETTER EXPLANTION BEFORE SEASON BEGINS) Spoiler 5.1 Team Morale Team Morale uses a formula to calculate how liked you are by other players. The higher you are in the team morale rankings, the more attractive your franchise is to players. The higher you are on the list the more likely you are to get players to lock up long term. Maybe they'll even take less money to join your team over another. However, if you're on the low end of the morale scale players will likely not be intrigued to lock up long term deals with you, and you may have a hard time extending pending UFAs, and will also find yourself needing to overpay a lot more than others during free agency to land your targets. Being high and low on the morale scale both comes with its benefits and downfalls though. When you're high on the morale scale it's unlikely players will be willing to waive their clauses leading up to the TDL. On the flip side, if you're low in the morale rankings it is much more likely to have players be willing to waive their clauses to go to a better destination. FORMULA (PR÷10) x (TS÷23) x (CB+T) ÷ -23¹⁰ ÷ (S+PL+PL+23) PR - PR Budget TS - Total Salary (annually) of players CB - Captaincy Bonus (tenure of "C” x 2) T - Tenure of roster (days) S - Seeding PL - Penalty Level 5.2 Penalty System Each team will start with a base penalty level of 0-10 depending on results of previous season. Certain accomplishments or failures will have different impacts. NOTE: For the 2024-25 season every team will start with a base penalty level of 5 regardless of outcome for the 2023-24 season. GFL Champs - 0 points GFL Finals losers - 1 point Conference finals losers - 2 points Lost round 2 - 3 points Lost round 1 - 4 points Missed playoffs - 5 points Bottom 6-10 - 6 points Bottom 2-5 finish - 7 points Last place - 10 points As the year goes on you will be given penalties, or minor relief due to things done that's listed below. This is subject to change as the year goes on, but no changes will be made to it mid season without passing a league vote. +1 POINT Bottom 6-10 of league standings for a particular month. Trading a player with a NTC to a team on their list. Failure to respond to activity check after 7 days. 1 point for each additional day. Failure to meet a players trade demand request. Disciplinary action. +2 POINTS Bottom 2-5 of league standings for a particular month. Finishing the season ranked bottom 6-10 of league standings. Trading a player you signed or extended as a UFA within the last 181-365 days. Disciplinary action. +3 POINTS Last place of league standings for a particular month. Finishing the season ranked bottom 2-5 of league standings. Trading a player you signed or extended as a UFA within the last 91-180 days. Trading a player with a NTC to a team not on their list. Disciplinary action. +5 POINTS Trading a player you signed or extended as a UFA within the last 90 days. Finishing the season ranked dead last of league standings. Trading a player with a NMC. Disciplinary action. -1 POINT Top 2-10 of league standings for a particular month. Make the playoffs. Win a playoff round -3 POINTS 1st place of league standings for a particular month RESET TO “0” Win GFL Championship NOTE: When the playoffs are over we lock in the team morale for the offseason. The team morale will be locked until a specified date mentioned in the “important dates” Section of the forum. This is so teams don't get dinged for players coming off the books, and they can take advantage of the team morale they built up throughout the season during free agency. Section 6: Front Office Spoiler 6.1 Front Office Budgets Every team has a total budget of $100M to spend across 5 different departments. Each department playing a pivotal role in your teams success. Spend your money wisely, as you can only set these once a year between September 1st & October 1st. 6.2 Player Relations Department Money invested in this department go into locker room and facility upgrades, among other things to help keep your players happy. This will play a VERY important role in keeping your team morale up. Which in turn can help you in future contract negotiations. Max Budget: $40M Min Budget: $20M NOTE: You cannot increase more than $10m from the previous year investment. You can set it between $20m-$40m for the 2024-25 season regardless of last year's investment since it is a new rule. This is to make teams have to build up gradually from a rebuild if they choose to tank their PR budget. Helps to limit potential exploits of the system. 6.3 Player Development Money invested in this department will allow you to utilize the ELC slide. For further information on how to use an ELC slide see section 3.11. How much you invest will determine how many ELC Slides you can use for the season. $10m - 1 ELC Slide $20m - 2 ELC Slides $30m - 3 ELC Slides $40m - 4 ELC Slides $50m - 5 ELC Slides 6.4 Medical/Training Facility Investing in the medical and training facility is how you will open up IR slots. See section 4.4 for more information on how to utilize IR. The most IR slots you can use at one time is 5. The amount of slots, and flexibility of who can be placed on IR will depend on how much you invest here. $0m - 1IR Slot (IR only) $10m - 2IR slots (IR only) $20m - 3IR slots (IR only) $30m - 3IR slots (dtd+) $40m - 4IR slots (dtd+) $50m - 5IR Slots (dtd+) 6.5 Minors Budget This one is pretty self explanatory. However much you invest here will essentially be your AHL salary cap for the season. It does come with a minimum & maximum budget. Min: $10m Max: $40m 6.6 Scouting Department Investing money into your scouting department will increase your odds of landing talent on draft day. Depending on how much you invest you will be awarded a free draft pick. This pick is untradeable, and is made at the end of the round during the break. These picks come with fast 5 minute time limits. If you miss the pick you can't make it up until the other GMs make their picks. You must make it up before the beginning of the following round or you will not be allowed to make it up until the completion of the draft. 1st RD pick: $60m 5th RD pick: $10m Section 7: GFL All Stars Spoiler 7.1 - GFL All Stars Team Captains Whatever GM leads their division on the morning of January 1st will be named team captain. Team Captains are responsible for selecting players from their division to form the best team possible for the allstar competition! NOTE: If a division leader refuses to accept the responsibility of team captain the role will be passed down to the next team in line. GMs can choose to work together in building the team if they wish to do so and the team captain is willing. 7.2 - Team Selection The team captain's will submit their rosters anytime between January 15th - January 31st. Any player that was traded out of their division after January 15th 12am pst will only be eligible to be selected by the division they were in before the trade was submitted. Each team roster must meet the following guidelines: 6 forwards 4 defensmen 1 goalie 5 emergency call ups You can only use an emergency call up if you waive a roster player. Once you waive a roster player (for injury or bad play), they cannot be reassigned to the main team regardless of circumstance. Emergency call ups must include 1f, 1d, 1g, and 2 flex options. You can make changes to the team anytime before February 1st 12am pst. NOTE: You must select atleast 1 player from each team in the division. 7.3 - Scoring Divisions will battle it out in a 4 way all out battle. Optimist Prime
In preparation for the 24-25 season Waiver Wire activity. ~Waivers kicks in on September 15th 2024. ~All players being waived must be posted in the game thread for time stamp purposes. ~All waiver CLAIMS must be sent via forums private message to Optimist Prime, unless otherwise stated by Gator, for time stamp purposes. ~One waiver claim per private message: this is specifically to enforce time stamps as a precedence for making claims. If a GM wants to claim more than one player, send your top priority claim first to have the earlier time stamp. If you are successful in this first top priority claim your team will drop to the bottom of the waiver list, impacting your second claim. I am not going to decipher messages like "We wanna claim McJebus but only if we don't get Dr Dre who is our second target after Sidney the Kidney Stone. If we get all three that is awesome". ONE PLAYER PER forum private message, a new message entirely for any other claims. Your claims will be processed in order of time received. 4.1 Roster Moves All roster moves must be made in the thread as their own post and must be clearly phrased. Not doing this may cause it to not get processed. EXAMPLE 1: WAIVERS: Vancouver places X on waivers 4.5 Waivers If a player gets placed on waivers all teams will have a 24 hour window to put in a claim. Redundant Waiver History 2024/2025: Spoiler Sept 20th 9:11am Dallas' Nico Sturm cleared waivers and was assigned to the minor league affiliate Sept 16th 10:01am Toronto's Jonah Gadjovich cleared waivers and was assigned to the minor league affiliate

JohnnyEhGiver
The Buffalo Sabres are excited to announce that they have officially tendered an entry level contract to phenom Matvei Michkov. When rumours started up last month about Michkov possibly being released early from his KHL contract excitement intensified around the Sabres faithful. Well today is that day. Michkov will bring a unique skillset to Buffalo and will officially mark a new era for the Sabres. Even though the Sabres are still in full rebuild mode Michkov should intensify the speed at which the rebuild now takes place. Michkov scored 41 points in 47 games for SKA - St. Petersburg coming up 1 point short of tying the all time KHL U20 rookie point record held by Krill Kaprizov despite missing 21 games do to internal Russian politics. Matvei Michkov will immediately be placed on the Buffalo Sabres roster in a top six role. Buffalo is also ecstatic to announce the Michkov will be named an assistant captain to fill the void left from last season joining Nathan MacKinnon and Jake Sanderson in a leadership role. 2

IMPORTANT INFO - Especially if you're new! Please be aware of the team morale system coming into play this season. Make yourself aware of the penalty system so you don't get hit with too many and find yourself in the bottom of the morale rankings. Your morale ranking will ultimately determine how attractive your club is to pending free agents.. The higher it is the more players will want to play with you, and the lower it is the less players will want to play with you.. This will tie into things like contract negotiations, willingness to waive clauses, trade demands, etc.. This system is meant to bring a realistic element to the fantasy world. I will be updating that section of the CBA over the next few weeks to better explain how it will be used. Just keep in mind it will be very important and try not to take too many penalties as the season progresses. You can see the formula used to determine the morale in the CBA
