Surprised Johnson didn't go 2 years. He had 40 points in 22/23, a bit of a regression statistically last season. But you'd think he'd be ready for a bigger contract in 2 years rather than 3. But hey, good deal for Johnson and a great deal for CBJ.

Usually the show me deals are for one year, so I don’t know why he’d sign for this term, unless he’s banking on outperforming his best season and he really cashes in.

This might be one of the better cost bridge deals in the entire league.  At his worst he will be a quality 3rd line C/W and at his best a Horvat or Miller light (minus the semi aggressive physical play at this point in his career)

 

Columbus' new GM making hay right now with this deal.  Damn good contract.
