Michael Scott
I hope the cap works out. Not easy to make proposals without capfriendly armchair mode  Trade 1)VANCOUVER TRADES: Poolman 2.5 LTIR Edmonton trades: Kulak 2.75 Kane 4.7 ( retain 425000) Savoie 2026 1st round Trade 2) Vancouver trades: Garland 4.95 Detroit trades: 2025 2nd pick By doing this, Canucks still have $15,833 in cap space. We gain a power forward who when he is on, he's on. Thinking our coaching staff will keep Kane in align. Also gain another defenseman. On top of that, a 1st round pick plus a top prospect. We also gain 2nd pick for Garland. That cap space will be useful next year. At almost 5M, he's too expensive. His position could be filled by the many wingers we have or even Kane. The oilers get out of Kane's contract with a little retention. Plus they trade Kulak. They take back poolman who will be on LTIR. They keep both players that the blues offer sheeted. In return they give up savoie and a 2026 1st. Steep. But it comes down to whether the oilers believe in their RFA. Or they could not match, still do the trade and 6.8m in cap space. Both Kane and Kulak have 2 years left. Would allow them to sign drai and Bouchard while allocating Kanes money to defense. Red wings add a forward who had a good season last year. Only on the books for 2 years. Perfect for the wings as they look to take the next step. qwijjibo
That 2016 Edmonton pick was used on Puljujarvi. I'm sure they'd be happy to give Vancouver his number. Lol.  Seriously though I doubt Edmonton goes for it. Giving up Kane, Kulak Savoie and a 1st (plus the 2nd and 3rd they'd get by not matching the offer sheets) just to keep Broberg and Holloway seems pretty slanted against them
Hammertime
Oh youre actually serious.  No to all of that. No to Kane in a canucks uni. Savoi IMO was drafted too high and has all the markings of a tweener to me really struggles when the going gets tough. Kulak I guess has some chemistry with Des but I don't really think he's the guy we are looking for. And then you go and throw Garland away for a 2nd. I think we are so much better off doing none of this and building on the chemistry we have in our room.  I'd maybe consider something around Poolman for Kulak and leave the rest out of it. But naaa F em! Edited August 16 by Hammertime

It's a matter of if the oilers want to keep their RFA's. We don't need to do anything. We can go with the team we have and evaluate as the season progresses. Plus have to charge a little extra to help out a divisional rival who we most likely need to beat.

Phil_314
Someone will gladly oblige to take Ceci + a 1st and give them future considerations so the Oil can keep Broberg and Holloway.  Also don't see why we need to take on Kulak, Forbort is adequate for the role and we're not exactly teeming with cap space. At least we know what Garland is with Joshua, whereas Kane could be a cancer if his attitude issues persist, so I'd pass on him. Canuck You
The OP must have gotten a contact high off my weed.
Curmudgeon
I would rather jam flaming bamboo splinters under every one of my toenails, then walk ten metres in bare feet over molten lava, while thrusting red hot ice picks through both my palms than have Evander Kane anywhere near this team. But that's just me.
Drakrami
Trade away the biggest reason for our success last season (the 3rd line) for something the Oilers want to get rid of. Genius.
grumpyone
why oh why would we HELP the Oilers ? Kane is a cancer.......definite NO THANKS. also, Garland is worth more to us than just a 2nd.
IBatch
Garland pulls his weight and has chemistry with Joshua.  So no thx.  They'd have to find a third party and pay the cost to cut Kanes cap in half to even remotely want to do this
