RWJC
Former Vancouver Canucks winger Sven Baertschi has joined the WHL’s Portland Winterhawks as an assistant coach, shares Ryan Pike of Flames Nation. Baertschi spent two years with the Winterhawks in 2010 and 2011, ultimately scoring a dazzling 240 points in 156 games with the club. That was enough to motivate the Calgary Flames to select Baertschi with the 13th-overall selection in the 2011 NHL Draft, though he never managed to live up to that precedent. His career year came with Vancouver in 2016-17, when he posted 18 goals and 35 points in 68 games. Baertschi finished his NHL career with 138 points in 292 games, playing in parts of 10 seasons. That’s a hockey career to be proud of – meager scoring or not – and Baertschi will now look to carry his experience back to the juniors team that helmed his early career. https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2024/08/evening-notes-jagr-baertschi-necas.html#ref=home 1
NewbieCanuckFan
FYI: Some obscure guy was drafted two spots after him. I wonder what ever became of that guy?

Junkyard Dog
Injuries derailed his career forcing him to retire in his prime. Probably could have ironed out a decent NHL career if had had health on his side. Too injury ridden with neck/head injuries. 1
Snoop Hogg
He seems like a good dude who unfortunately had bad luck with all the injuries. Nice to see him still involved in the sport.

-dlc-
Always liked him. He was never the same after that hit that was ignored by the refs (concussion/back?). Just donated his t shirt to Big Brothers with some clothes I went through. Was a fan. Hope he has success.

Rekker
Good for him. Always liked this guy and it's a shame he couldn't have a longer career. Guy had skills for sure.

He was literally on Dhali and Donnie 10 months ago talking about his concussion and neck issues. He missed 56 games in 2018-19 due to post-concussion symptoms. He was never the same with the concussions and they were a cherry on top of a lot of injuries that added up.
