Anything goes on Robidas island.

But really, this just shows how the NHL is such a mickey mouse league.

Obviously Toronto realized they screwed up by signing him to a contract but know they couldn't cancel it so they're paying him 1.5m to get out of the 2 year deal.

This is when the league needs to step up and say, if you are going to sign him to a 1 year deal you need to honor the 2 year deal

And fine them a 1st round pick for trying to game the system ... said pick to go to Vancouver, well just because.

Except since the league is a mickey mouse one, it'll be the 'nucks assessed a 1st round pick, and Edler gets a 15 game suspension and retroactive $30k fine (just because).  :picard:

how can they sign him twice?

First contract was not registered with the NHL as Toronto found out late about his health status.

Guessing both sides agreed to a 1 year (show me) deal to see if he can still play with his knee condition

And definitely not insured. This is one of those Benning contracts.

WTF wasn't their statement that he was cleared by their quacks. Found out late. I call BS.

Is my memory faulty, but wasn't more than a few people on CFF wanting the Canucks to sign him in July?

Probably. I know I was looking at him before July 1st and I liked his size, his age and his numbers. Then I found out he had a bad knee that might be really bad. I immediately scratched him off my list. I assume Toronto had the same thoughts.
