A lot less of a gamble.

yes it's low risk gamble for his offensive prowess but still a high risk for the defensive side. guether is a relatively low gamble too imo.. he dominated in the junior, dominated at the wcj dominated in the ahl and was excellent in his 70+ games in the NHL. if this was a canucks signing you guys would be all for it.. but because we didn't get him for arguable one of the worse trade in canucks history behind neely.. you guys would be cheering if he crash and burn in the nhl.

This place is going to have a meltdown once he's gets 70 pts but I suspect some people will still call him "selfish", "can't defend" or Bustaroo 🤣

No, it's just going to one more to the Benning was an idiot examples.

Guenther was great in the WJ's and I was a bit like good lord.   Shit this didn't work out.   If we had Guenther right now, absolutely we'd be happy.   We don't so we can say things like what a terrible signing.   As for that, on principal for me it is a terrible signing.   For either Guenther or the club.

Edit:  Just so you know, I think the league's blowing their load on both ends now.  RFA and UFA.   And we as fans and quite a few teams, are going to suffer as a result.

I don't know what's worse value, the return this guy got in a trade or the contract Utah gave him.

Only time will tell. I'd rather have Mccan for 5 mill

They need to cap 2nd contracts, and maybe limit to 4 years tops.

The agents will not allow it. But I bet the players that pan out would make more money if they were restricted to 4 years. These deals are all about getting as much money as you can even if you don't pan out

lol there were plenty of negatives on hughes in his second season when he struggled hard on defence.. when he was -24.. more than double the next defenceman at -11

An eye watering 3 goals too.
