MikeyD Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 Was anybody else disappointed in it? I felt there could have been so much more substance to the docuseries and they really didn't let you in at all to how hard the NHL is in the post-season and really did a disservice to the game. The only time it got real was with the Oilers. I was excited for the Canucks portion and it just seemed so lacklustre. 1 Quote
Bounce000 Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 I only watched the Leafs/Bruins episode so far. It's certainly no HBO Road to the Winter Classic. But I'll take what I can get 1 Quote
German Canuck Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 (edited) Iam concernd because of the caps which ones Q. Hughes wears Edited October 5, 2024 by German Canuck Quote
Breadnbutta Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 I'm watching the tkachuk episode right now, no wonder they have no problem attracting players lol. Paradise, no state tax, at the beach before every home game. I'd want to play there too lol 1 Quote
ABNuck Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 I personally thought they did a pretty good job in editing...they probably had 100's of hours of material and had to focus down. I liked the opening show of the series (Rivals) between the 88's (Nylander and Pastrnak)...they showed quite a bit about the Leafs / Bruins rivalry based on the playoff history. And they did focus in a bit on McDavid's record setting post-season, but not many other stories, so that was a bit disappointing. For me there were 4 stories from the playoffs last year: 1/ Leafs futility vs Bruins...again 2/ McDavid's record 3/ Oilers come from behind to tie the finals 3-3 4/ The one that I really wanted to see was the storybook game vs. Nashville. They covered the Nashville / Canucks series focusing on Forsberg, but made ZERO mention of that miraculous 3rd period by the Canucks...winning in OT. I would have found that way more interesting than Jacob Trouba painting. Quote
Popular Post DeNiro Posted October 5, 2024 Popular Post Posted October 5, 2024 (edited) Biggest thing I took away from this is that Hughes was the right choice for captain. Very humble, smart, and thoughtful person. It’s amazing how he’s only 24 and handling being captain in a Canadian market with such style and grace. He’s got a great sense of humour too. We’re lucky to have him. Edited October 5, 2024 by DeNiro 4 1 Quote
CRAZY_4_NAZZY Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 Appreciate seeing Quinn Hughes' episode but ngl it wasn't a very interesting episode compared to watching Nylander/Pastrnak's episode or McDavid's. Quote
pureblood Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 I thought it was super mid. The music and sound in particular were noticeable bad, to the point of it being corny at times. Also didnt like that they focused just on the players they chose. Like I get the Nylander + Pasta story is cool, but I wanna hear from and see the rest of the teams Quote
Fan since 82 Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 I'm 2 episodes in...it's not bad. The hbo stuff has been better but they've also been doing it a long time over various sports. Quote
ftmN Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 A lot of the series felt scripted, almost every time they interviewed someone it sounded like they were reading from queue cards. There were a few real moments amongst the series but I really wanted to see more behind the scenes hockey which there wasn't much. Can definitely get more out of Canucks TV from a Canucks perspective. 7/10 -> 8/10. Quote

You know, completely normal conversation. 1 Quote
