Matt Martin didn't seem to be chasing the play last year. He was basically even on Pims. His hits per 60 were very good. +/- was good, more takeaways than givaways, 61.3%on ice goals % he actually led NYI 5v5 only 1.6 high danger shots against per 60 mins 5v5. I really don't know that you can ask much more from a 35yo 4th line enforcer type. 2 1 1 Quote

He's second all time, behind Clutterbuck, in NHL hits, if Lou feels the Isles are lacking in that department it's a fairly easy signing to make https://records.nhl.com/records/skater-records/real-time-since-2005-06/most-hits-career He's a long-term Islander too, easy to slot in and out, 57 games for the Isles last season Yeah, he's on the older side but the thing is the Isles aren't bringing him in to chip in offensively, he's a crash and bang player 45 games needed to get him to 1k, hopefully he gets there Edited October 26, 2024 by Coconuts 2 Quote
SuchaNuxtalgia Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 With all matters being relative, Lou Lam thinks any skater under 42 yrs is a youngster. 1 Quote
