He's very reliable defensively for a young guy, just not offensive what so ever yet. I'd say 50/50 he clears. Gut tells me someone takes a shot on him. Maybe the Sabers could use a 4C.

Meh. I don’t see him being anything more than he is already, good secure call up guy that can play the 4th line, that’s all imo

I won't be surprised if he gets claimed. It's unfortunate, but this is a big endorsement for Bains

Hope he is claimed.  He deserves to play.  He is not good enough to play on a top tier team.  And we need him to be taken so he doesn't screw up Raty and Sasson opportunities.

It's huge for Bains.  He's waiver exempt and Aman plays centre and wing.  

 

Bains has finally broken thru at the NHL level with 1 official goal over 6 games and 1 goal called back.  They're obviously impressed with his growth

Seeing Raty play earlier makes me feel better about our Center depth. 
 

Even Sasson looks like he could get some games.

 

Hope we keep him but not the end of the world if we don’t.

Problem for Nils is that he is A man, not The man.

Whether he clears or not, doesn't really matter, that much.

Was hoping he would take another step last/this season.  I was so impressed w his skating combined w range when he first joined the Canucks.  Hope he clears and the Canucks can keep working w him.  At the very least he’s a capable depth player when injury occur

I like him. Good size, moves well, solid D. No O to speak of though. Limits his utility. 
‘Haven’t looked to see if his faceoffs got any better. Hard to carve out a role as NHL defensive centre with FO% well below 50. 
Raty will pass him soon on depth list if he stays.

Really impressed with how Bains is playing. I liked parts of his game last year when he was up, but he clearly needed a few months more of AHL and another summer of training. He really looks ready to be here now. I wonder how he would look on a line with Joshua?

Probably. Putting Aman on waivers means they need a spot on the 23-man roster for Joshua. If Dakota is not coming back today, there is no reason to waive Aman.

However, it could be a creative move to accrue more cap space like they have already done this season by sending down players when the Canucks have a day off.
