Jess Posted November 7 Posted November 7 He's probably worth like $13M or something tbh. $11.5M would be a good deal for the Rags. 2 1 Quote

Alflives Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Raggedy Andy’s suck picks without this guy saving them every game. He’s by far their best player. He allows guys like Panarin and Fox to cheat the game. He should get 15 million considering how much cheating for offence his teammates do. Quote
Drive-By Body Pierce Posted November 8 Posted November 8 I dunno about the length of the deal. How many goaltenders have maintained top of the league play for that period of time? Quote

Nucker67 Posted November 8 Posted November 8 $11.5 to play 50 games? Salaries are getting crazy. Quote
GrammaInTheTub Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Basketball was like football for gramma - so much more strategy involved and less chaos in each play - unlike hockey. It’s like chess. Gramma likes chess too. Quote
Smashian Kassian Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Whats the highest now? Price is at like 10.25 right? And Bob at 10? Those deals were signed awhile ago, 11.5 wouldn't be as big a jump as it could be given the rising cap. Would be a good deal for both. 1 1 Quote

He'd get more via UFA too, someone would throw 12 at him Goaltenders getting a bump is long overdue considering how the cost of top tier forwards and D has gone up 1 Quote

rmok Posted November 8 Posted November 8 If I'm spending 12m on goaltending i'd honestly rather have 2 good 6 million goalies on 3,4 or 5 year deals than any 1 goalie @ 12 for 7 or 8 years. Unless the goalie was so good that he earned that contract at like 23 years old somehow.. there is no way a veteran goalie is living up to that contract. 1 Quote

Going to be way later at this rate, unless they start doing better in regards to tv coverage. It's a huge issue right now. Pretty sure the WNBA is pushing better numbers right now, and they were a joke prior to Caitlin Clark. Also, NHL rosters are twice the size of NBA rosters. Not sure how much that'd effect individual player contracts, but I reckon it has some effect. But then again NFL rosters are even BIGGER than NHL and you have QBs makin' 60mil who aren't even considered great. Edited November 8 by JeremyCuddles Quote

Delayed inflation is about to hit the goaltender market. 1 Quote

The broadcast rights for the NBA are FAR more lucrative. NHL isn't the same draw. There's zero chance NHL salaries get anywhere near those levels Quote
R3aL Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Goal tending is such a difficult high pressure position and guys get nickel and dimed. i truly feel there should be a seperate salary cap allocation for goal tending where you can have three goalie slots 1 starter 2 back up 3 practice goalie and a special provision to exceed the goalie cap for a special goalie like a shesterikin and that overage would go into the teams regular salary cap. my opinion. But goalies are for the most part not paid fairly imo. the amount of minutes, the pressure and the importance of the position. kevin lankinen situation really shouldn’t happen. 1 Quote
Jess Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Shesterkin is a special breed of goaltender that does all of the following: 1. Plays really damn well 2. Plays damn well even with heavier workloads (55+ games and 100% playoff time) 3. Plays damn well every single season These goalies are really rare and there generally seem to only be 3-5 in the NHL at any given time. When you find one, sign them. 1 Quote
