If you watch the replay, he’s actually trying to make a play for the puck first, then braces for the hit. Unfortunately, he primarily got the head, but it doesn’t seem like he was intending to do that. In a way, it kind of reminded me of the hit Miller made on Rooney in game 1. Both going for the puck at high speed, and a violent collision resulted in a player getting hurt. The big difference is, Miller didn’t make direct head contact, Reaves did. It’s still suspension-worthy, because you’re responsible for how you hit a guy. But I don’t think it was as dirty as the Jeannot hit, which was a pure, meditated headshot. 1 Quote
