Canucks fans with knives out for Tocc next.

Do you really think so? I've seen a couple of vocal complainers but it would be silly to blame this year on him.

A team trending the wrong way with a desperate attempt to save itself. Maybe a coaching bounce but the inevitable rebuild will start someday.

I'm not a Tocchet fan but with the injuries, the team is about where they can be expected to be in the standings.

Wow that was fast. Jack Adam winner just 2 seasons ago with Boston for having the best season record. He was very content with Boston for giving him a chance overcoming his alcohol problems. What a quick turnaround.

Little harsh, but I'll allow it on the grounds of schadenfreude.

11 years later, and 5 coaches later, and people really think a 6th coach is going to make a difference now, yeah that kind of talk is old imo.

Jack Adams is often the kiss of death it seems.  Long list of guys who won it and were fired within two seasons.

Hall of Fame player Bill Barber won the Jack Adams his first year as an NHL head coach, was gone at the end of the very next year, and never coached again.  I don't recall the exact specifics of his departure though.  Paul MacLean (100 point player himself) was only given a year and a bit by Ottawa after he won the Jack Adams.

Makes you appreciate how teams really stuck with their guy back in the day...Al Arbour, Scotty Bowman, Trotz in Nashville and Ruff in Buffalo.  Players would have to just get with the program.

So you’re saying tocc will be gone after next year

In this case I don't think so...partly because Vancouver went from a post-Kirk-McLean goalie graveyard to a post-Alain-Vigneault coaching graveyard.  Even if Tocchet has a couple bad years I think stability is the prescription at this point.  But stranger things have happened.  Changing the coach is the usually the first measure, especially since player salaries skyrocketed and with it their actual control over the direction of the team.  Back in the day the team would just say screw it and swap superstars with someone else (Hawerchuk for Housley, Gartner for Ciccarelli, Chelios for Denis Savard etc.).

I'm thinking Coach Q may be considered for this job.

Eww. But I could see that. Good coach, but stained for sure.

They should just play spin the bottle between Quenneville, Babcock and Keenan.
