No way they are letting McDavid leave. heh, and if I'm not mistaken, their current arena was still built partially from taxpayer funds. In the province where regular Conservative party was too liberal for even them so they had another more right wing party formed (and win I think) in the past. Where the owner is a billionaire. Gotta love corporate welfare but let the peasants starve. Edited November 20 by NewbieCanuckFan Quote

Having two of the league's best players sells a lot of jerseys I reckon they probably have more blue collar fans living closer to their arena than the Canucks do, even if the oil patch guys do make stupid money Vancouver loves a winner, but ticket sales dip when things aren't going great 1 Quote
Diamonds Posted November 21 Posted November 21 It's crazy to me that all teams are valued over $1B. It was only about a decade ago that it was major news when a team (Toronto) became the first NHL franchise to surpass $1B in value. Quote
6of1_halfdozenofother Posted November 21 Posted November 21 I think this is the only result of significance to Franquilini: Everything else is likely secondary. Quote

This was my first though too. I can envision him staring at this report in his office, quietly muttering to himself, "Suck it, Tom!" 1 Quote
Kevin Biestra Posted November 21 Posted November 21 That Oilers value is fickle as hell. McDavid gets traded or retired and it plummets. Kind of crazy how directly the value of one player is illustrated. Quote
