The Canucks didn't "let him go" as much as Zadorov chose to sign in Boston.

Aside from being a fit on the ice, he was also maybe the only guy on the team who actually seemed comfortable in front of the mic and dealing with press.  
 

It is a hard market to play in, and if you can find a guy who likes that, then that is worth something.

I could see Alvin making it happen. I mean, I wouldn’t give up much more than he didn’t the first time, but I’d say that Zadorov had his most productive time as a player here. I think he really felt that the coaching staff here brought out the best in him.

At a certain, retained cost, I would be quite interested in reacquiring Zadorov. I was in the camp for him to re-sign with us during the offseason, and was hopeful to have him inked before Free Agency. 

 

The deal to extend TM57 "early" was a bit of a headscratcher as he showed limited interest in exploring other opportunities with the 3Y / $9M deal. 

 

Granted, we do not know all the in's and out's of our management team's gameplan, but I would welcome back Zadz back at the right cost and restructured contract.
