Kevin Biestra Posted Saturday at 12:54 AM Posted Saturday at 12:54 AM (edited) This guy is probably my favorite third string goalie of all time. He joined the Canucks right in the aftermath of the 1982 Stanley Cup run and had to weather the storm with King Richard through some really rough years against the powerhouse Smythe division and the Gretzky Dynasty Oilers, plus Marcel Dionne and the Kings, Dale Hawerchuk and the Jets etc... He is also the only white goalie in history I believe with a Jheri Curl mullet. He had a great rookie year in 1983-84, going 8-8-2 with a 3.40 GAA in a very high scoring era. He was also part of the legendary 1982 Team Canada that won the World Juniors in one of the country's best ever performances at the tournament. Caprice went 3-0-0 with a 2.33 GAA and .922 SPCT. The lineup featured a number of good future NHLers like Gary Nylund, Scott Arniel, Marc Habscheid, (Selke Winner) Troy Murray, Gord Kluzak and Randy Moller, and future Canucks Garth Butcher and Moe Lemay. Caprice played 102 games for the Canucks over parts of six seasons and registered 31 wins. ...and yes it was necessary to clarify that Caprice was the only WHITE goalie with a Jheri Curl mullet... Kevin Biestra Posted yesterday at 12:44 AM Author Posted yesterday at 12:44 AM It's a little known hockey fact that both Pokey Reddick and Frank Caprice took their team photos immediately after returning from the studio to shoot the video Torture as part of the Jackson 5. Quote
