Coconuts Posted Saturday at 10:05 PM Posted Saturday at 10:05 PM Minny was supposedly a frontrunner, not surprising Wonder what the return is Quote
Coconuts Posted Saturday at 10:10 PM Posted Saturday at 10:10 PM (edited) Faber, Jiricek, and Buium could be a helluva D future for Minny, Lambos too Edited Saturday at 10:11 PM by Coconuts Quote
Elias Pettersson Posted Saturday at 10:13 PM Posted Saturday at 10:13 PM So a 1st, 2nd and a prospect. That's pretty much what I said would happen. My offer was Hoglander, a 1st and a prospect... 2 Quote
Phil_314 Posted Saturday at 10:13 PM Posted Saturday at 10:13 PM Wow, that's the price for disgruntled NHL blue-chip prospects (1st, depth and couple other picks, similar to what Askarov got). Quote
MatchesMalone Posted Saturday at 10:14 PM Posted Saturday at 10:14 PM Less than I was expecting for Jiricek, but can't say I know a lot about Daemon Hunt. 1 1 Quote

Sophomore Jinx Posted Saturday at 10:19 PM Posted Saturday at 10:19 PM Minny already scares me NOW, but they will be even scarier in the next couple years. 1 Quote

I don't blame him either. He is saving that for a player that can help today... 2 Quote
Alflives Posted Saturday at 10:20 PM Posted Saturday at 10:20 PM Columbus did the best they could with a quickly diminishing in value asset. Quote
Wing Posted Saturday at 10:21 PM Posted Saturday at 10:21 PM I'm surprised that's all it took. I also don't know anything about Damon Hunt but he's a former third rounder in 2020. Not saying 1st + 2nd is nothing, but if Minny finishes high in the standings it might not even be a top 20 pick. Minny got the RHD prospect they need in their already deep prospect pool. The Parise/Suter dead cap is pretty much done after this season. They're in a pretty damn good position. I don't like that they're in our conference =/ Quote

(Do we have a second?) And the AHL D man sounds like he’s somewhere between Woo and D-Petey. Juricek just seems like too much of a risk for clubs to give up a more sure thing for. 1 Quote
Devron Posted Saturday at 10:22 PM Posted Saturday at 10:22 PM Maybe Jirichek ends up sucking anyway. Never really know. Good return for Columbus 2 1 Quote

Agreed, while the acquistion / addition of Jiricek would have been great in the long-term plans, I suspect he will make a trade splash the second week of January. Allow for the post-US Thanksgiving and Christmas click-bait rumour mills to slow down, and then strike when the price of his target(s) drop temporarily. 4 Quote

Probably, there's a very good chance none of the pieces offer the NHL impact Jiricek will in Minny They're on track to head to the draft with three 1st's though, because they should probably get one for Provorov 1 minute ago, Elias Pettersson said: Most likely Allvin was not offering the 1st round pick. Probably, and we don't have the prospect depth to give up the equivalent of a 1st, we'd likely have to have given up Lekkerimaki+ given Willander was off the table 1 Quote
Elias Pettersson Posted Saturday at 10:24 PM Posted Saturday at 10:24 PM Just now, HKSR said: Columbus will regret this deal. I think so too. That was probably the best offer on the table. The 1st round pick could be quite low as Minny is currently 2nd in the NHL. So, could end up being a 1st round pick in the high 20's, a 2nd round pick in the high 50's and this Hunt guy who was a 3rd round pick in 2020 who could be a bust. All for a 6th overall pick who was projected to be a top pairing Dman and still technically can be. Minnesota committed highway robbery here really. They now have one of the best young cores in the entire NHL, and it's happening right as all of their dead money is coming off the books. They will be a scary team moving forward... 1 1 Quote
Honkin Hronek Posted Saturday at 10:25 PM Author Posted Saturday at 10:25 PM Canucks equivalent: To Columbus: Jett Woo 2025 1st 2027 2nd 2026 3rd To Canucks: David Jiricek 2026 5th Jiricek is worth that package but I don’t think we’re in a position to do that deal. 1 1 Quote

Columbus diminished the asset though themselves. They are a horrible club at developing talent really. We should try and get Kent Johnson from them... 1 1 Quote

Maybe, maybe not, but a 1st and a 2nd is a lot to give up and our prospect depth isn't the greatest We need NHL level help today, Minny isn't giving up anything from their NHL roster They have the luxury of being able to roll the dice on a D like Jiricek, we need a clear cut NHL level upgrade yesterday Some of it's goaltending, some of it's the Wild working their asses off, but they've given up the least amount of goals thus far despite being 20th in SOG allowed and having the 27th ranked PK Edited Saturday at 10:27 PM by Coconuts 1 1 Quote
