Bruins' Brad Marchand Addresses Rumors of a Feud With David Pastrnak

We've already seen this with the New York Rangers and the Vancouver Canucks this season. When good teams go off the rails, locker room issues—real or imagined—start simmering to the surface. Whether it's true or not in Boston is another story. 
 

The Bruins have lost six games in a row for the first time in 18 years. So naturally things are not going well, both on the ice and in the locker room, according to an eye-popping rumor dropped by the Jones & Keefe podcast in Beantown early on Friday. They suggested that stars David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand are engaged in a feud. 

 

"The locker room is a disaster," said WEEI radio host Rich Keefe, "and David Pastrnak is at the center of that. David Pastrnak has told the team he doesn't want to be on a line with Brad Marchand, and it may stem from Brad Marchand calling out Pastrnak for some of his play." 
 

Marchand immediately came out this afternoon guns a-blazing, calling out Keefe and essentially calling for him to be fired. 

 

“Reporters have a job to do… but when they’re just blatant lies told in the media, that’s where there’s a problem… The fact that he's just making stuff up is embarrassing. There’s zero truth to anything he said on the radio… The fact that he's going to have a job after this is insane.
 

“…Pasta and I are best friends…He’s one of the most loved guys in the room… There's zero issues at all... I’m not going to let some random guy come in the media and spin absolute nonsense. From this point forward, this guy (reporter) has zero credibility.”

 

11-year veteran Pastrnak and 16-year vet Marchand have played in some 670+ regular season games together with the Bruins, as well as a total of 15 playoff series (for another 90 games). 

 

Pastrnak echoed Marchand's comments, per Boston Hockey Now, saying "I know how I feel about Marchy. We love each other. I have a huge amount of respect for him. We had a good laugh about it, and it’s 100% false.”

Media is going batshit crazy with their BS lately. Not a fan of Marchand but am one of how he handled this.

I mean think about Miller has been dealing with the drama the day he got to Van. He’s been on the trade block since day one lol. Petey has been left alone for the most part but the first few years he had to answer questions about how skinny he was. At some point you stop giving a fuck what people think. It’s a way to survive mentally

I heard pasta called Marchand big nosed rat boy. Zadorov had to separate them as Marchand tried to stab him with his skate. The coach ran to the scene and tripped on Marchands nose and hit his head on a bench and was in hospital over night.

Would've loved to have seen someone from the Canucks shut down the reports like this. That was done with great leadership by Marchand.

Thing is they did but instead of flat out no the media just kept rolling with it. And even if they did completely shut it down. It would just be the next fabrication or exaggeration. It never goes away it just turns into something else. Been a fan for 25 years. Some things never change
