Jess Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Given his presence in the KHL, he fits more in this section. Quote
PureQuickness Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 (edited) This was a waste of a trade, in hindsight. I would rather have Lockwood. NYR fans did not miss him when he was gone. Kravtsov just seemed like he was extremely overrated given his draft pick. NYR also doesn't seem to know how to develop prospects. At this point, I don't want anymore trades from NYR. snowman955 Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 This is just a lesson to be learned. If NYR was not interested in developing him, why accept the trade? Quote
NucksNation Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 Apparently he was almost dominating before he got injured. Maybe he turns into another Kuzmenko in a few years… Quote

That's tough to say, there could be many factors. Other wingers in the system preventing development time? Late bloomer? Needing a fresh start? Can't simply write off someone just because it wasn't working for another team. It was worth a gamble and we didn't give up a whole lot. Quote

Let me guess, in your mind any time we make a trade, we are throwing away assets/draft picks to acquire some other team's castoffs? 1 Quote

They have made some great moves in the past few years but development has been a struggle. Maybe Laff and Kakko break out this year though, who knows. Chytil has a bit of a breakthrough last year 1 Quote
KoreanHockeyFan Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Still have hopes for the guy. 5 points in 5 games in the KHL so far this season. 1 Quote

He'll be assigned to the AHL club in Charlotte soon enough. Swapping over-ager cuspers isn't a big deal. Chances are neither are making the show on a consistent basis anyway. 1 Quote
Canucklehead44 Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 We still own his rights. I think Kravstov is a better bet to be a player for us down the line than the 7th round pick & Lockwood for NY. I see it as him finishing his development in the KHL Vs taking up a roster spot here 1 Quote

But with much less teams and with 12 rounds he would be a 4th round pick today. Other than him Jason King, Brandon Reid, Mario Bliznak, and Aiden McDonough are the only guys to play games. Lockwood is with Florida now. Kravstov has 5 points in 5 games in the KHL this year. I would probably agree chances are we don’t see him again but I wouldn’t count it count completely. If he makes massive strides in the KHL and we own his rights - if he doesn’t want to play in Vancouver and gives a list of teams a late round pick could be salvageable there as well. Either way it was a worthwhile gamble. If we gave up a 2nd I’d be pissed. Quote
