Aside from a portion of a game, he hasn’t played with Miller and Beoser in a long time. He’s been tied to Mik and Hogs…both who have had zero offensive touch all POs (Mik all year). And he is on the #1 PP which went 2/3. Is he playing great..nope. BUT he is contributing now which is great. Once again, probably been playing through something most of year.

He faced 3 shots….3! Look at the goals from yesterday; hard to fault Skinner on any of them. A tip, point blank giveaway, sick foot to stick pass, and a Boeser snipe. Pickard fairs no better on those shots.

Stupid move; you basically 100% disengage Skinner at that point. Pickard is no better.

I have thought Petterson has been looking better and better as the series goes on. It is hard for him to stack the offensive stats when he’s playing with guys that have zero finish right now (Mik & Hogs). His PP has been great this series and his 200’ is very good…even being physical. Hogs and Mik have been frustrating to watch though.

Yep; shots 22-3 Oilers // HDSC 2-1 Oilers

I remember being that team outshooting the opponent and losing all the other metrics not too long ago. We didn't win all that much, and needed Demko to stand on his head to make the HDSC saves on minimal shots. Now, we've flipped table....and get accused of being lucky, but we win alot! PDO is stat people use wrong; it is NOT an indication of luck in the longterm, it shows commitment to ensure our opportunities are HDSC vs fluff. You cant beat good goalies with fluff, so why waste offensive zone time with fluff shots w/o net presence (which would turn a chance to HDSC). To be honest, I love that they outshot us every night. Just makes their fans rag on Skinner and the team, while ignoring the true issues. They can stack up shots (and tears)...we will stack wins!

The canucks fwds are very aggressive, just not risky. Every lose puck is contested and opposing players have no space. They only collapse into the diamond to minimize high danger chances, and to protect the crease. The Canucks absolutely dominate in front of their net; some due to our D size, but also their system. It is SO refreshing to finally be the team that does this. The fact that we got outshoot 22-3, but the HDSCs in that time period were 2-1 Oilers is ridiculous.

Let's just move past this. Who cares about Hyman's retaliation.....he should have after McD got X-checked twice! The way the Canucks organization handle these situations is all class now; no point in pissing the league off. I'm sure RT, PA, and JR respectfully discussed all the other questionable stuff that's happened in the series after Soucy's call. In turn, it sounds like the league put Oilers on notice that those things would not be tolerated going fwd. In all honesty, that is great for us. Any stupid shit by them will be 5 and a game. I don't think guys like Nurse and Kane are capable of not doing it, so......

McD got a x-check to the face AFTER the game was over. Like it or not, its a suspension worthy play. They choose the least punitive option. I'm okay with it.

Yep; foote and Gonchar will have him ready. If I remember correctly, Soucy was a game time decision before that Preds game...so he didnt have tons of time to prepare

The high stick is not a disciplinary action. Kane's slew foot, the Ryan Nut shot, and Nurse's hit from behind should have received fines and a 5 minute penalty in game. They were all intent to injury. But yes, Zads x check was the worst for me too...so glad DPoS didn't see it that way.

Did you only start watching the Canucks in the playoffs and see his one game in the Preds Series? The guy was a rock all year after acclimatizing early. He is not nerve racking nor does he make bad plays; he has proven he can be a 3rd pair guy. The one PO game he played, he tried too hard; needs to just lean back on the system and we'll be fine.

I'm kind of excited to see what Juulsen brings. If he plays well, I'd give Cole a couple games off....he needs it

I'm glad that Zad only got the fine and that both didn't get 1 game. Intentional or not, it was a massive X-check from behind and a cross check to the face. Not intentional, but still worthy of a game.
