  1. Yup, and this year Petey was paid $7.35 million in the regular season. Next year he starts getting the big bucks.
  2. #1 He's being paid $7.35 #2 He's playing well defensively... saved multiple goals in the series... his line is not giving up goals. (+1 this game) #3 He is not scoring the way we would like... true, that is disappointing... but he is not playing with exactly inspiring linemates. This game he was paired with Mikheyev again, (hands of stone... he missed an open net this game) and Karlsson... who is a Rookie. (better than Hoglander, but a Rookie) He's also getting over some kind of illness. Yeah he should be better, by his own standards, but hopefully he will improve.
  3. Don't assume the Oilers are out of it. By my estimation they'll get one more good game out of McDavid and Draisaitl before they burn out. And that will be in front of rabid, screaming Edmonton fans. Next game will be just as tough. Canucks need to refine their game even more... get on McDavid and Draisaitl and the Oiler's D early... hit, hit, hit, hit.
  4. This game they were 2-4... but it wasn't enough. The fact we were able to stop two of their PP's killed them. Previously they had gone double figures at 100%.
  5. Shhhh.... don't say that. And actually I think Draisaitl is injured... he can't take hits like he would normally be able to shrug off when he carrys the puck. So McDavid is carrying the puck and passing to Draisaitl when he is in the clear.
  6. I love the hit stats. This is a result of Edmonton playing McDavid/Draisaitl so much... neither of them hit... so the other lines which hit get no ice time. Meanwhile our 1st/2nd/3rd/4th lines are pounding the Oilers.
  7. If Silovs gets bombed, then replace him with DeSmith. Otherwise, keep him in. Once Demko comes back, he has to go in... I know everyone loves Silovs, but his save percentages and GAA are not great. He is doing the job, and is the best option right now, but Demko is a step above in experience and ability right now. Silovs is a future #1 and the chances of starting in Vancouver is good.
  8. Something I wanted to mention: The fact Edmonton is playing McDavid nearly 30 min and Draisaitl over 29 min means the bottom six lines have a lot less time to get into a rhythm and get their legs. It is actually counter-productive to reduce a line's ice time that much. Commentators are talking about how the other lines aren't producing, how can you produce when you get one shift ever 10 minutes? Obviously you play your top line more, but not at the expense of total team play. The Canucks have been rolling their lines... Miller/Boeser/Suter are getting a lot of time, but they are on for 20:00 minutes... they are tag-teaming the McDavid line with Lindholm's line and sometimes Blueger's or Pettersson's lines. Its a TEAM effort.
  9. Edmonton really has no one else... they will start Skinner.
  10. Cole actually had a good game... and that goal wasn't his fault. Its got to even out at some point... he will get lucky and score a couple.
  11. Of course you put Demko in. But there is zero pressure right now to put him in prematurely... which is a really good thing.
  12. Of course, we do have to realize this series is FAR from over. Oilers have home ice again, their fans will be absolutely rabid after McDavid got schooled. And their team will be fired up to the MAX, cause they KNOW its curtains if they lose again. So don't be surprised if its another nail-biter.
  13. Now their coach is on the '...goalpost.' thing. Sounds like excuses to me. A goalpost is the part of the net where the opening ends... if you don't hit the opening and you hit the post, you don't score. And by the way... a couple of those goalposts which they are whining about were initially deflected by Silovs... i.e. his net awareness was such that he was position exactly where he needed to be... so the puck hit him... and then hit the post and out.
