  1. Did you even watch the game? We were controlling the play, they got 2 lucky goals in the 2nd. IF you were watching the game you could feel it coming. Scoring chances were 29-15 with high dangers 11-5 in our favor. Defence gave them nothing, McDavid was held to 0 shots, not sure where you're getting that our defence was bad. This is classic playoff Stuart Skinner, he had a similar meltdown vs Vegas last year. Yeah he could've had those but he's an average goalie. To be fair the Oilers had 3 lucky goals too so that's. a wash. I agree with the rest of your takes.
  2. Definitely, i thought he looked a bit like he did when he had that wrist injury but you're right about that. His shot has lost its velocity and accuracy and he has passed off grade A chances. That 2 on 1 vs Saros in round 1 game 5 was very telling. Healthy Pettersson snipes that like he sniped his first nhl goal.
  3. Key takeaways from tonight. 1. Their D are very slow moving the puck, they don't have the puck movers to beat our forecheck. ( Kind of like what Vegas did to us in 2020 ) 2. Thought we throughly outplayed them except for a few small stretches. 3. Even at 4-1 down it never felt like we were out of it. 4. Thought this was one of our best games in the playoffs so far. Limited the oilers to just 16 shots, they never really threatened much, their 2 goals were against the flow of play and pretty lucky.
  4. This is even more true when you look at their D pairings. No legit #1, and outside of Ekholm nobody can defend. A far cry from Norris candidate Josi & co.
  5. Just a confidence issue/gripping the stick too tight imo. He played great vs bigger more physical teams like the Blues and Knights.
  6. Splitting the talent between 2 pp units seldom works. All the best pp units are loaded up. id go with Lindholm miller pettersson boeser and Hughes. Let them work through it.
  7. He literally has a 30 goal pace in his playoff career and well under a ppg lol.
  8. Nearly 90pts on an off-year for him. 30G 70 Pts is a huge disappointment.
  9. You mean the guy that got 100+ pts at 24 years old a season ago? The horror.
  10. I wouldn't mind Henrique at all. He's decent on the dot 54% and can chip in some offence, has a 30 goal season under his belt. Not sold on Vatrano at all, his numbers look decent from his hot start, but the REAL Frank Vatrano is showing up now, back to his 40 pt pace.
