  1. Points come early in the season when everything is loose winning comes at the end of the season when things are tight supposedly! haha Learning to play well the full season took the Sedins until they were 26/27. Maybe earlier just think of the idea. push through pain and produce. its like me coding / programming for a 12 hour day. After about 8 hours you kind of want to stop. And at 10 hours you stare at the screen and don’t do anything for half an hour. But if you force yourself you can still be productive. Push through it. Find the will. It’s not easy physically nor mentally (granted physicality is completely different - harder! - when hockey is considered)… everyone is partially injured after half a year of non stop physical sports…. Sedins could have pushed through earlier. Everyone doesn’t push through until they see the results of not pushing - cause they are used to giving up. For the Canucks they need to see what happens when they don’t push and figure it out….. welcome to post all star play when you are supposed to be a top team. It may take a few years….. ideally they could have gotten experience before this year. they got a chance. It’s about how good the leadership is in that room.
  2. EP needs to take a page from the Sedins. get stronger. Sedins were noticeably better once their core strength etc improved and weren’t as easy to push off the puck. EP needs to do the same. I’m sure he has been given this advice - after all the Sedins are coaches for the team. It will come. And then he won’t be falling down and out muscled so often. Aka he will make his own space - like the Sedins used to do (ok they weren’t bull dogs but relatively..::: hopefully that all makes some sense)
  3. Team is fragile. They had gotten their game going until 3rd period of Colorado, and that carried over to this last game. it’s the sign of an inexperienced team. They need to go through this - better now than getting wiped out in the first round. Colorado showed them what is coming and they realize it isn’t going to be easy, so they are overthinking it etc etc. cycle is a few weeks to get their game going again. But it will come its no accident that miller is one of the only players who is not going through this - had some experience in NY. this year is a learning year. How fast can they learn? We will find out! I agree best chance for a quick turnaround is lotto line and lindholm on second - probably with hog and podz…. Really missing Dakota for that 3rd line back. so enjoy watching how long it takes to turn over. it’s not a big deal - all teams are fragile before they learn how to win (sounds crazy but it’s true). Normally a team. With this sort of experience just makes the playoffs for their first time…. so they are getting targeted and are learning earlier than most teams who start to push through to success…. But they are getting early lessons which is good. Will be fun to watch!
  4. Where are all my old enemies? The Benning lovers who went silent once the OEL thing made everything crystal clear? haha anyways… been quite a while for me team looks good. Got to remember that no team is always going to dominate. Even the 2011 team had their moments. So did the 83 oilers if my childhood self remembers (4-0 islanders win cup). I’m old obviously they got a chance. So much parity it’s not gonna be pretty. Done whine and bitch about a breakdown, it’s human nature….. you work like a dog, get to be successful, then take the opponents for granted when you got something that works. or…. You take for granted those you love, because you love them so you can use that as a base that you can count on. But then they get pissed and rightly so, so you focus on them. And then to handle the world you need to take them for granted so you can focus on work etc…. Rinse repeat. Infinity cycle. same thing with the psychology of a team. So you get a cycle. Shit happens. Colorado is on a high. They have been low and we’re going through relatively poor play. This year might be their year again. Canucks: it’s too early. They will get into the playoffs and lose. Hopefully not at all … but hey, very likely. Would be good to see them past the first round. Then they will learn from it until they can really make a push…. When the players save themselves for the playoffs…. Which I don’t think is happening here ???? Even though you think you are ready, you never are. Until you don’t care if you are ready or not, then you have a chance at winning
