Soucy shouldn't get anything. Zad getting a fine makes sense, that was a nasty cross-check. Soucy's cross-check is only bad because of Zad's. If McWhiny wasn't knocked over already, Soucy would have hit him in the chest, and likely not violently. Soucy's cross-check cancels out McD's slash. Fine them both, or neither.

That makes sense. I'd love to see Petey producing again (I'm sure we all would), but ultimately it's the wins that matter. I'm fine if they try to tinker with Abby folks to see what happens while keeping the other lines intact. Maybe Tocc would try Lindy and Petey again if they had to shorten the bench in a 3rd period. Here's to hoping that it doesn't come to that (not being that desperate!)

Lindy's been good/great lately. I wonder if it is time to pair them back up again. If Lindy was hurt bad enough before, and that was the reason they had no chemistry, perhaps a healthier Lindy can give Petey some quality support. Blueger back with Garly and Joshua should be fine during the experiment.

I had no issue with the interview (I hadn't watched it before I posted). In general, it just always bugs the crap outta me that we usually get stuck with the Alberta crew when we play those teams, and Gene’s presence is an extension of that. Good for him to put on a brave face.

I don't know if they should have been majors. I was hoping Kane would be called for hitting Petey, but I wasn't expecting a major there since Petey put himself in an odd place. It looked less bad in the replay. I could be talked out of that, though, especially if other angles were available. On Hughes, that looked more like a trip. A dangerous one for sure, but given the angle (not being hauled backwards over the trip) I could see it not being considered a slew foot. In any case, some pretty easy penalties could be called. I was wondering though whether the refs can discuss the missed high stick, since blood was involved. I know linesmen can call majors when the refs miss them, but not sure if the double minor was something the refs could collaborate on and confirm as a group. If so, this is doubly bad, since Hughes was right near the puck when it happened. Someone had to have seen it.
