Agree it wasn’t Silovs best game, but he didn’t lose the game for us. 15 SOG against Skinner was the issue. Seriously 5 shots a period, not the goalies fault. Anyway, if Tocc/Clark decide Desmith is best chance to win, fine. Not the way I see it, but I’m no pro and no nothing about goaltending. I’m getting good at making empties like@Alflives though. Mine are just beer cans, not Scotch bottles though. On a totally unrelated note, I’m hoping Arsenal win and Man City draw or lose tomorrow. Need something to make my sports weekend not total crap, lol.

Yup and I feel like Desmith would have given up more. Nothing against Desmith, but he’s a smaller tender, tends to overplay leaving the opposite side open, which Oilers would have capitalized on multiple times, Draisaital in partucular from where he loves to shoot from shortside to the far corner. Not to mention his rebound control, tends to not absorb pucks like Silovs. DeSmith doesn’t get rattled though, I’ll give him that, but neither does the Latvian wonder. Regardless, goaltending has not been the issue for us. Lack of shots, or rather shots that get through is.

Based on: Silovs came in and has played confidently, has a winning record, better rebound control and movement than Desmith and is obviously a key piece in the future of this team. Particularly, god forbid, if Demko keeps having injury issues, may be our starter sooner than later

Yup. I still think they pull it off, but if they don’t it’s stilk been a successful year that exceeded my expectations. All focus on next game though

Welp! That sucked. Skinner back in and Canucks looked afraid to shoot. So frustrating. Game was great until Coilers second goal, then Canucks looked afraid to make a mistake. Oh well. Put it behind you. Focus on what it will take to win game 7. edit: Also…I will stay away from here and social media for at least 24 hours for the same of my sanity. This is what I really don’t get. They execute the 6 on 5 well and seem to score at will, not sure why they can’t seem to gain the zone or execute 5 on 4. Been saying it all year. Wish they’d ditch the stupid drop pass. Use it once in a while, but it’s every f’in time. So predictable and teams just line up on their line to prevent anyone coming in with speed. Just rush in a line (like they do 6-5). You’ve got the extra man, gaining the zone should not be that hard.

Hmm, that is admittedly something I wasn’t considering that Demko would be upset if not given the opportunity. Good point. Demko strikes me as a good supportive teammate, so I think he’d get it, but…he’s a competitor. Good point!

You’d throw a goalie who has played one playoff game and 2 reg season games in past 3 months into an elimination game, when a young stud has come in and been playing regularly and very well for the team? Glad you’re not coach, lol.
