  1. Yeah, none of us here are experts on the game and the consensus seemed to be that this offence would be average at best, but likely far worse. I'm not sure what the FO really expected. IIRC, they didn't even take a swing at Bellinger. He was just about the only impact bat available once Ohtani was off the board. The part I'm really struggling to figure out is what happens next. I find it hard to think that ownership would commit to an overhaul after spending (I think) about $400 million renovating the stadium and being less than 24 months removed from contending. The roster sucks, so does the farm system, and neither one is likely to improve the other much via trade. I'm not that old but this has gotta be the most pessimistic I've been about the Jays since the BJ Ryan days.
  2. The Shatkins era almost reminds me a bit of Benning's tenure with the Canucks- Benning talked about the "competitive rebuild", Shatkins talked about contending for WS titles while maintaining a plump farm system. The Jays are now a dog shit team and look to only have 2 or 3 guys on the farm that might help them in the foreseeable future. It's almost impressive how quickly and thoroughly the front office has degraded the team from where they were as strong contenders with an explosive offence just two years ago.
  3. Didn't he leave the team and enter stage 1 last year during the playoffs after the situation at the team hotel with the trafficked woman? Sounds like that was stage 1, stage 2 came earlier this season when he left for a bit, now he's at 3.
  4. Cole's cross checking penalty later in the game balanced out the Nurse penalty.
  5. I'm gonna make some breakfast for dinner for the game tonight. I'm thinking of breakfast grilled cheese sandwiches- brie cheese, bacon, green apple, fried egg, and ?? on sourdough. I'm thinking maybe hot honey or jalapeno jelly, something like that? Any suggestions?
  6. His rebound control was pretty awful all game, that was just the one instance it came back to bite us. My butt was puckering up with every shot he faced after seeing the initial rebounds he gave up.
  7. I think it could even be something like an inappropriate joke or comment he made to a staffer or media member. I imagine the Blackhawks tolerance level for stuff like that would be lower than most teams, and rightfully so.
  8. If you read the topic I made a week or two ago, you'll see that I explained each (including Beauvillier) player's trade value in excruciating detail.
  9. Why didn’t we get a first rounder in return? It’s like GMPA didn’t even bother to read my post after the Calgary loss. What a tremendous waste of time.
  10. To be fair, there was a media outlet that had called it an act of terrorism at the time Poilievre said that. It starts with F and rhymes with "box".
  11. Those two and Bouchard had another awful goal against highlight like this the game before too.
  12. They probably asked him to but Looch insisted on going shirtless so the fellas in the clink could admire his ink.
  13. I think your metrics might be a little off though. There’s plenty of elite athletes or people at the very top of other fields that I’d still call losers. Bobby Hull, Ray Lewis, Julio Urias, come to mind.
  14. Somehow there was no flag on the play. https://www.nfl.com/news/broncos-s-kareem-jackson-suspended-second-time-for-repeated-violations-of-player Kareem Jackson has been suspended for a second time in as many months for repeated violations of playing rules intended to protect the health and safety of players. The NFL announced Jackson's latest suspension for four games on Monday in light of the Denver Broncos defensive back lowering his helmet to hit Minnesota Vikings quarterback Joshua Dobbs in Sunday night’s Broncos win.
  15. You should've stopped right here, but alas, you continued with this : And, apparently under the delusion that you hadn't yet enlightened us enough with your sociopathic rantings, you doubled down with this: That's some seriously unhinged shit. Get help.
