  1. There’s a few things at play here I think. I don’t think it’s just a matter of, or simple as, our guys not showing up. No matter how much we mock them their top players are the elite of the elite. 1. matchups are huge in this series. Oilers were getting their top guys out there in favourable situations. This leads to a lot of momentum. On the road and in our barn it’s a lot harder for them to do that. 2. I think some are underestimating the absolute disaster it will be for the oilers to lose this series. They are at the cusp of the end of the McDrai era. Those guys’ legacies as oilers are on the line. They absolutely couldn’t fail especially in a humiliating fashion on home ice. These guys are good players playing for more than just round 2 survival. The failure goes back years and they have been carrying that load on their backs. Our guys looked overwhelmed after the first when the oilers scored a couple. i expect a different response now that the Canucks season is on the line and we get home ice where tocch can dictate the matchups . I also think Skinner will probably be skinner.
  2. The goalie I’m assuming they are going to play is Skinner. A career .88x in the playoffs. His numbers this year are slightly worse than last year. It’s skinner . Some of you guys are acting as if this is over. Just put in the effort of game 5.
  3. This team has been resilient all year. Home ice is a big boost with last change matchups, winning that position in regular season will pay off (i hope). If we lose, JR/Allvin will recalibrate the team...if the coilers lose its a massive organizational failure that could result in that team imploding like the flames did a couple years ago. Yeah, they had a little motivation tonight...and will have it on Monday. I have faith in our guys at home.
  4. I have a feeling we will see our team play its best game of the year.
  5. They know what they need to do. Last half of game 1 and most of game 5 they went on the forecheck and were relentless on the attack. This is the formula. Oilers have no answers other than waiting for the refs arm to go up when the Canucks play this way. Put those whining diving divas outta their misery tomorrow!
  6. Ex NHL referee who has been kissing coiler arse the whole way
  7. Hits probably starting to take a toll. Drai and Ekholm eating a lot of the hits
  8. Yup, hes playing arguably the best hockey of his career right now. Cole...now thats where we can start typing some essays here...
  9. When they attack and forecheck the way they did the oilers flaws get magnified significantly. The McPowerplay line cant keep up in a game like that with that sort of deployment. The hits are really adding up on Drai. 4th line was awesome. Aman is a smart player, Podz on the forecheck hitting everyone, PDG looking like he did at the start of the year. Tyler Myers looks like a stud out there...every time i see him im thinking, thank goodness Tyler is out there right now.
  10. meanwhile the anger is building over at the hill billy pit:
