A forgettable performance by him, not my fave defenceman by far.

Gotta say Cole hasn’t been my favourite defenceman and he seemed to be really dumb at the beginning of the game. First causing a too many men penalty in the first minute, then his terrible coverage on the first goal and a dumb giveaway backboards on the second Coilers goal. Hope he can clean up his act this series! Otherwise the Big Z is out scoring Petey playing defence and hasn’t been a liability, he’s played well and used his size…he’s a threat! I’m liking this Nuck resilience, what a comeback! And Miller is a stud!

I hope Mikheyev is well healed and up to speed to counter McD etal, that’s a need, but Jeez it be nice to see him finally getting on the scoreboard! Hopefully Petey helps both his line mates more this series with goals and assists. And Dakota Joshua making a good mark physically and on the scoreboard would be great, we’ll see…fingers crossed.

Can’t say I was overly excited by how the Nucks played in this series but they were strong and found a way to win it, and not blow it! Proud they made the second round, and now at least make it a good season. Games 3 and 4 were big road wins and then they iced the cake with a shut out win in game 6 to take the series. Hopefully this first round series was a good lesson in keeping composer, killing that 4min penalty should help….But the power play has to be better! Zadorov has been fantastic, both defensively and offensively….great addition!

Was proud how they won the first game in Nashville and then hadn’t cheered and yelled that loud at home for a goal for quite sometime till Boeser’s game tying hat trick goal in game 4 with less than 10seconds left to play!…another loud one when Lindholm scored the game winner in overtime! And all our top players haven’t really showed up yet, but good stuff we still have a 3-1 series lead now. Stole 2 on the road! Boeser’s got some flow goin’ again!

I’m still hoping and rooting for a Nucks vs Jets Western Conference final but hope Demko proves again why he should win the Vezna this next final game vs Hellebuyck possibly.

Awesome! I grew up in Vancouver and didn’t become a Nucks fan really until they drafted Linden. But growing up my dad took me to games at the Pacific Colliseum to see some great NHL teams. Saw Bobby Orr and Ken Dryden etal. I guess that’s also why I like the skate jersey best.

I hear ya. But I like our present line up, from the goaltending out. We have a pretty nice core!….and Hughes continues to be elite. My money is on the Nucks head to head in a playoff series vs them, bring it on! That be a cup final series….it’s in my dreams. Think of the Penguins core with Marc Andre Fleury in net , Letang, Malkin and Crosby when winning cups is what comes to my mind…can’t compare any one to Crosby

When watching the game tonight vs a really good eastern conference team, the Canes, I kinda thought how the way we are built is what would have Leaf fans creaming their jeans. And we’re kinda built in a eastern conference way now with Rutherford etal.

I just wanna say I’ve always liked the addition of Zadorov to our defence. Not a bad record with him in the lineup since too eh! Here’s the thing though, he’s kinda filled the Tryamkin role too eh!

Not upset at all with what we gave up in the trade as per Kuz not fitting the bill this year, and giving up a very late 1st round pick plus a couple very distant prospects…We kept our blue chip prospects! And that’s what it takes to land a player of Lindholm’s quality with the reality of other teams offers. I was thinking how our 4 lines might now look and the above idea has potential. The Nucks can still ice the lotto line when needed too. I like that the 3rd line still can stay as is, and Mikheyev may be more suited for the 4th line using some speed with Lafferty. This management team isn’t giving away the farm to really contend in the playoffs for the cup this year but did lose a few prospects…that’s the market. I believe Rutherford and Allvin know what they are doing, with the short and long term future of the team in mind!

Be great if the Nucks get another 2 points tonight, as they should against the Blues. Same with the Jets beating the Leafs!…And keep both team’s atop the standings in the Western Conference.

Not a fan of overtime shoot outs anymore, just puts pressure on the goaltenders! And I dunno, 4 on 4 seemed fine till someone scored. And not a fan of the Canuck pp drop pass in the neutral zone before entering the offensive zone…Tocc has said he doesn’t want players skating backwards to defend in the neutral zone, this pp drop pass play is working backwards!

Geez, I mentioned getting some autographs and seeing Cliff Ronning seated near me at a restaurant but I also just remembered bumping into Markus Naslund once waiting at a Kitsilano crosswalk light. I believe he was with 1 or 2 small children and I was by myself, I just smiled at him when we made eye contact and said “Number 19”….He smiled back and nodded then we all carried on our way.

Ah yes I remember, Tie Domi and his cement head that looked as though it hurt more to land punches on. Both teams were definitely a good ol’ fashion rivalry at the time.

It was actually after Winnipeg got an NHL team again that truly helped me decide moving to live there would be tolerable…especially in the winter Other than that it’s very affordable compared to living in Vancouver. Although I really miss living on the the west coast! In my adult years I always lived in the downtown area, and what a back yard! Oh I liked to fish alot too…for salmon, halibut, crab, trout, and the funnest of all STEELHEAD trout river fishing!

BTW I’ve been able to watch all the Canucks games online via sportsurge.net Game On!

Sorry new at this and didn’t know how to post a reply under a quoted comment. My ex and I were eating dinner at Anton’s and Cliff Ronning was also one time, by himself, but we decided to leave him alone to chow down. I grew up playing lacrosse and ice hockey against him, he was really good at both! I played for Coquitlam, he played for Burnaby. And I got Pavel and Gino’s autographs when they were together in the original Shark Club, in the daytime, one afternoon. I couldn’t resist and they weren’t eating at the time, so I approached them with her photo and explained they were both her favourite hockey players before asking them to sign it. They liked her pic, haha, and happily obliged…nice guys!

I live in The Peg now, but still am a Nucks fan and follow them more. I’m in my late 50’s and really only became a Canuck fan during the Linden, Bure, Odjick years. My exwife was/is from LA, where we also lived….I’m originally from Van. And she also became a Canucks fan when we were together. I was lucky one day to have Bure and Gino autograph a wallet photo I had of her, for her cause they were her faves. If the Jets and Nucks make it to the Western final I’m rooting for the Nucks, but hope all players from both teams come out healthy win or lose. CHEERS!

Uh, I watched the last game from the St Louis broadcast. And the media has NOTHING to do with my view! Enjoy Lafferty on Petey’s line, HaHa!

It’s January not anywhere near playoff time and the preseason is over! Time is now to have your NHL top 6 roster gelling and getting the best position in the Western Conference…and then play match up in your 7 game series. AGAIN, has Kuzmenko really been THAT bad?! Every NHL player goes thru a slump in scoring, can he be expected to break out of his slump in the press box watching? Those line combinations were HARD to watch, and again the final score says it all!

I don’t think Kuzmenko has played too poorly to be a healthy scratch! Didn’t like the line combinations at all against St Louis, save for the 3rd line… but could have even put Suter at centre again on that line! Horrible! The final score says it all! And the power play sucks now! Has me questioning Tocchet now? What is he trying to do with the offence?!
