  1. I have your first, let me know if you want to trade back for it?
  2. I've seen him on the bench a number of times this postseason, and he'll reach out and rest his arm out stretched on the board in front of him, and flex forward taking deep, labored breathes in. Essentially trying to decrease rib movement as much as possible. That's not even mentioning how much different he's looked on the ice.
  3. Maybe we'll find out shortly once injury reports start coming out, but I'd bet my bottom dollar it's rib for Hughes. Just looks so similar to players I've worked with in the past with cracked ribs. Doesn't technically effect movement, just hurts like sin every time you do anything.
  4. Dude is doing his best to give Maniwaki a bad rep. Home of Gino, if I remember correctly?
  5. 5th on the forwards for hits, 1st on the team in takeways, highest CF on the team for forwards indicating strong positioning and defensive play. It's entirely fair to criticize his play offensively, but saying he avoided play is simply wrong.
  6. You can't? the Canucks only had 5 post season powerplay goals, by 4 different players. 1 was Petey, who tied Boeser and Miller. It's fair to criticize Peteys play overall, but it's disingenuous if you attempt to blame the powerplay troubles on him.
  7. hopefully, but he looked outmatches this post season. Hopefully he builds confidence over the summer and comes back with fire in his belly.
  8. I'm stilling holding out for Podkolzin. Maybe Lek could even surprise early. I have faith that Allvin could find some gems in the discount section of the league, be it trade or free agents.
  9. Petey could have definitely been better, he's got it in him. He also had zero support since none of his linemates had anything going either.
  10. This seems like the most likely outcome, if they want the job. The mix between the Twins and Gonch filling in when they are around clearly wasn't enough
  11. Hoglander had a breakout season, I'm a huge fan of his game. It's a depth and experience issue. He looked overwhelmed these playoffs and was unable to step his game up, and we didn't have the winger depth to fill in his spot. It may not have been the worst if he was the one man on the line that didn't have it, but Mik didn't either, nor did anyone else who was tasked to fill in. Impact winger, and winger depth must be improved this offseason.
  12. Pettersson being poor has zero relevance to my original statement, which was discussing wingers. He's a center. So you can bitch all you want about him, but you're speaking into the void. Quite frankly I stopped reading this wall of text after the first 2 sentences. So reply if you want, but you're yelling at clouds (not that it's stopped you in the past). Next time if you want to have a conversation, stay on topic instead of bitching about other things.
  13. No? We don't need 1 or 2 more top 6 wingers? You think it was completely acceptable having Mik, Hoglander, Suter and Laf all playing top 6 wingers minutes? Or you just completely ignoring the premise of my post so you can bitch about something different?
  14. The whole point of Toccs system is you can be the next man up and you already know your job. Yes, chemistry plays a role, but I don't think that was the issue last night. Last night can be summed up with one word. Experience. The Oilers had it, the Canucks didn't. The Oilers team last night is the end product, a team who's had a couple chances to see their weaknesses and make changes in the offseason. They are running out of runway, and know it. The Canucks are just starting and don't have the experience. We looked overwhelmed by the moment the majority of that game, and to be frank rightfully so. We didn't have our starter, we didn't have our leading goal scorer, and we didn't have experience to lean back on. This year was awesome, and we're only going to be better going forward because of it.
  15. Drance is being realistic. Just like he's always been and why he takes a ton of heat. It's true, we need at least 1 more game changing winger to do damage in the playoffs. Realistically we should have another 2.
  16. "Players are only eligible for No Trade or No Movement clauses in years when they meet the eligibility requirements for Unrestricted Free Agency." That 1 year is because he's not a UFA till the following season. The only reason it starts a year in is because that's the rules set by the CBA Edit, just saw your edit. Same wave length. Nothing nefarious about the clause, it's just the rules.
  17. Outside of the playoffs, I don't want a ton of Canes games. Canes fans seem to be happy he's walking and speak of caution to anyone who signs him stating a pretty sharp decline in his play recently. Obviously I take everything coping fan bases say with a grain of salt, but makes me not sure if Peace is a guy you overpay.
  18. I don't agree with this either. He pushed structure hard from the moment he got here. The team looked at it's best early in the season when he preached structure constantly. The team looked predictable and lethal. Playing with that type of discipline is draining, and clearly the team burnt out by the end of the year. That doesn't mean jump ship and play pond hockey. Means solidify the ideas that got us this far and come back better next year.
  19. The entire team is based around staying in structure. That structure took us to the second round of the playoffs. Abandoning that structure to chase offense was never going to happen. Rightfully so.
  20. Based strictly off what I can see, with no concrete evidence I think a hernia is a good bet. Petey lost explosiveness his stride. The amount he's hitting does counter act that though As for Hughes, at this exact moment I'd bet my bottom dollar on a cracked rib. The way he's moving right now just seems like rih injuries I've seen in the past.
  21. Disagree. 2nd round of the playoffs isn't the time to throw in a high skill winger barely familiar with north American hockey or the structure.
  22. Our lack of winger depth became extremely evident this post season. Continue to build the defense, build up our winger depth, and one big acquisition for Petey. This team is just starting.
  23. He needed to be far better this post season, but tonight wasn't on him. He showed heart the entire game.
