  1. Silver lining, a poor effort tonight and a lopsided loss might be more of a wake-up call than say losing 2-1 in OT where we nearly won. It’s funny, people forget that a 10-0 loss and a 2-1 OT loss equal the same thing, it’s not an international hockey tournament with goals for and against. One game, us vs them, in our barn. Winner goes to the conference finals. Who wouldn’t have taken that back in October??
  2. “Great moments are born from great opportunity.”- Kurt Russell as Herb Brooks in Miracle
  3. We have to just go for it in game 7. No passive play, waiting for Edmonton to make mistakes. It was a long time ago, and it’s still a sore issue, but the Canucks outscored the Rangers 10-4 in games 5 and 6 of the 1994 final, including a dominating 4-1 win at home to force game 7. Does anyone remember that outside Vancouver? All they remember is the 3-2 Rangers win in game 7 that broke the curse of 1940. Point is, most players agree that momentum doesn’t transfer from game to game. Our leaders need to calm everyone and let them know it’ll be ok if we’re up on our toes and going after them. I’m pretty sure we’ll win.
  4. I live too far from BC, thousands of miles. To anyone going to the game on Monday, BE THE DIFFERENCE! The team played all year to have this chance, help push them across the finish line! We can do this!
  5. I think the Canucks just have to flush this one quickly, as quick as possible. It was just straight up garbage, so throw it in the trash where it belongs. A game 7 at home, one game. Let’s win it!
  6. Don’t worry, the stink of this awful effort tonight is still fresh, still raw. All the fans are hugely disappointed. Give it a day or two and it’ll turn into support for game 7. The white towels will be waving and we’ll bring our best. We played the whole season for this chance. There is absolutely no way our top guys no show that game. 100 percent right. Nobody gives it to you, you have to take it! I believe Jack Nicholson said that in the Departed.
  7. I can’t believe what I just watched. Just an atrocious effort up and down the entire lineup. We HANDED them that game. I don’t want to hear about how great Edmonton’s top players were, how their sense of urgency was so much greater. Ours was NONEXISTENT. At no point did I feel like we posed even a remote threat to cut the deficit. Tocchet should be ripping this team to pieces for that effort. This was something the Leafs would do. Now, here’s the positive. If we can channel one more great effort, I’m pretty sure we’ll win the series. Nobody will care that we laid a total egg in game 6 if we win game 7. It’s one game, how do we want our season to be remembered?
  8. I can’t believe we no-showed this game and somehow topped the abysmal game 4 for worst effort of the playoffs. If they’re passive in game 7 they will definitely be going home. Does Tocchet seriously have to call these guys out a second time? Everyone in the media will write us off for sure, maybe we can use that? Idk, just an atrocious effort tonight, can’t believe what I’m watching
  9. Team is showing its inexperience tonight. You can’t come into an elimination on the road and just no show like you did game 4. I would still like our chances in a game 7 in our barn
  10. We didn’t show up, again. Game 4 repeated. Thought we’d learn but nope
  11. Whew, thankfully got the right call at the end, that would’ve sucked. I’ll take the 1-1 tie on the road, we have to skate more though. Oilers are tight, we can win this
  12. Idk why we don’t just create point shots and drive for rebounds, simple simple simple.
  13. Henrik Zetterberg and Ryan Miller were late round picks, a couple of the other few impact players from that year
  14. This is random but I’ve always hated Edmonton’s goal horn. It’s so whiny sounding, hey maybe it is appropriate after all
  15. Was probably back-handed, something like “hey if the Canucks can have some success in the playoffs, there’s hope for the Leafs!”
  16. You’re right, Burke actually obtained it from TB briefly before trading it to Atlanta so he could select Daniel and Henrik 2nd and 3rd. Good knowledge
  17. yes I’d make that trade in about two seconds, but Edmonton would never trade him to a division rival
  18. Amazing that Vancouver is the oldest franchise to never possess the 1st overall pick, Calgary a close 2nd.
  19. I’m far from BC, but I can tell the city really really wants this. It’d be just awesome if we could find a way to eliminate these guys. GCG!
