We did sign Jacob Bryson with the intent of having him on the roster, and were pleased with his camp, but with Mintyukov sticking around we ended up in a numbers game (including being over the cap in the minors) - TBL stepped up with an offer and we wanted to give him a shot on another roster and this helps alleviate our budget constraints.

We wish Pius well in Detroit. We were hopeful to have him slip through, but with his contract we were hoping to create some flexibility via the ability to send him down if needed. The Kings are going to have to make some difficult decisions this year, as we have plenty of players who have played themselves into roster consideration. This could result in some waiver activity, and may also require some youngsters getting their ELC contracts. Exciting times are ahead in Hollywood.

Kings are willing to retain on Tanner Pearson, Chris Driedger, and/or Travis Dermott. Sure you could get them for free on waivers, but at their full cap hit, whereas a low draft pick could cut their cap-hit in half…
