I was looking closer at that Hyman cross check to Big Z’s face and can’t believe there is no action there. Hyman had intent to land it on his face (he’d have to, to reach up that high) and actually did damage causing stitches. Soucy wasn’t intending to hit McDavid’s face - that was circumstance caused by Big Z, who was hit with a fine. Such bizarre rulings.

Lame, but not shocking about the 1 game for Soucy. On the plus side, he could probably use the rest after that shot block yesterday that kept him off the ice for half a period. Plus Jules could use some ice time, and we know he comes with the physical play. Canucks need to ramp up the hits and the offence. Keep pushing!

I’d be okay with 8 years. We saw Chara go a long time, and Big Z would be great long term.

Soucy has been injured three times in the regular season with shot blocks… it’s a massive loss for us that the announcers have hardly discussed and barely noticed he was gone. That really sucks if we’ve lost him for any length. He needs better padding in his skates. He’s the Tanev on this team, for being injury prone and for his subtle defensive plays.

Anyone know what happened to Soucy? That sucks if he’s out.
