  1. You can tell Juice takes a shot whenever he gets the chance too. I don’t get all the hate, I like that he isn’t a total homer. He seems objective to me, but maybe tries a bit to not seem like a Homer.
  2. That would be an ideal situation. It really depends on him though. You can be certain that some team will offer a 4x4, but does he want to stay in Van and give up that 4 million dollar difference. My guess is yes, but time will tell…
  3. McDavid interviews after a loss are just about as good as the win itself!
  4. That is a very convincing statement. Still think him with Garland and Joshua has potential, and we have never seen that
  5. You don’t find a decrease in flexibility fast twitch movement? I find even jogging very difficult now, my hips and joints feel stiff, but maybe it’s just me getting old
  6. It depends how heavy you are going, but I have heard many strongmen/power lifters coming out saying that they don’t recommend people do them unless you are specifically doing them in competition because they cause a general decrease in general athleticism. If you start lifting into the 1-5 rep range for a few months you will notice it.
  7. So everyone seems to think something is going on with him whether it be physical or mental, nobody really knows. The fact that he really hasn’t missed any time though makes people believe it is mental. I do think this is probably most likely with his contact and everything this year and the idea he might be traded. My hare brained theory is that it could be a physical problem although not necessarily an injury. I think Petey has a bit of a chip on his shoulder about being too small and having being asked about it his whole life. With how competitive he is, it would make sense he wanted to do something about it during last offseason. Remember all those videos of him doing relatively heavy deadlifts and people were commenting on how he looked stronger. Now this is all well and good, but one thing that comes with increasing strength and muscle mass is the loss of flexibility and quick reflexes. Deadlifts in particular are very hard on the entire body including all your core muscles and small muscles in your joints. I personally know how much less athletic overall I am now compared to when I was not doing lots of deadlifts. Everything from running, jumping, reaction time all significantly worse. I would like to hope pro athletes would know better, but you never know…
  8. That’s the only good thing about playing the Preds and you want to take it away from us…
  9. You forgot Nucks stomped Oil, the cycle will complete itself!
  10. Congratulations Canucks and fans everyone! We did it, and battled through some serious adversity. Our boys are maturing before our eyes. What a disciplined mature performance from the whole team. Petey really digging in and showing up when it matters most. Hopefully this gives him some confidence going into round 2. Oilers we coming for you…McDavid we are setting up shop in your head!!!’
  11. Well that was a lot of stress on my old heart. It really felt the a reversal of game 2. It felt like we had more than 11 shots on net, but wow what a crazy low shot series. Playoff hockey at its best! I thought Petey seemed much more confident than last game. Still not peak Petey, but a step in the right direction. what a confidence builder for Desmith. So happy for him. Rest up boys and get ready to put them on the brink next game.
  12. What a monster defensive game, almost the flip side of game 2, where we were outplayed but were blocking machines. The boys are taking it all in and learning on the fly. That’s the type of defence that wins a cup! Casey taking home ice right out of the Preds hands!
  13. As frustrating as that game was, I feel like if that game is played over and over again in a simulator, we win it like 90% of the time. It really kind of shine a light on the lack of playoff experience. Right from the get go things were just a bit off with everyone and doubt set in and then you kind of create your own luck which was non-existent in that game. The good news is that that sort of thing is probably not going to repeat itself. It is on the coach and senior players to settle the team down and have everyone ready for Nashville. They outplayed them and really should be able to win the best of 5. I think getting out of Vancouver might actually be the best thing right now and for the team just to focus on their playing their game. We could have had 6 or 7 goals tonight that on most nights are in the back of the net, and maybe 1 or 2 that wouldn’t have been in ours. No need to panic, we got this as we are the better team.
  14. There is definitely a potential for a very high reward if it goes well. He could be everything that Petey needs. Maybe you risk it if you are up 3-0 or 3-1, or more likely if you are down 3-1 and have some injuries.
  15. Very good observation, I could see some truth in this. Also makes sense why Tocc is not being too hard on him. He can see he is trying to play that style of game
  16. Ya I don’t think the playoffs should be where you play your first NHL game
  17. How bad would it be to have Dak and Garly with Petey? Then you could have Lindy with Hoggy and Mik for a more traditional 3rd line
  18. I had a really funny(to me anyways) moment that I thought I would share. I had just been away for 18 days and I have this senior citizen parrot ironically named Handsome(missing a lot of his feathers and is 35 years old, big buggy eyes) He was very excited to see me and we always watch the Canucks games together and he really likes all the emotions that come during the games. He goes to bed at 7pm every night in true old guy form. I though he should be long asleep, but when the magical 12s segment happened I was so excited that I was screaming and carrying on and then from the darkness of his bedroom I hear him doing his best excitement whistle which is the one that you would make when an attractive lady walks by. He did about 4-5 of these and then went back to sleep. It really capped off a great night for me! Perfect first night back home!
  19. We waited almost a decade for this and game 1 lived up to the hype! What a great game to watch, big hits, nice goals and just really good hockey! So happy for the boys, and us fans. Demko was good, stars were all ok, but our depth proved to be the difference. Exactly what everyone said should be the case. Joshua, Garland and Lindholm were the secret weapon that the Preds couldn’t contain. Who knows, maybe next game another line will play hero!
  20. A sea of Chris Hanson, very disturbing and intimidating indeed, they would just give us the round, no need to even play the games
