I'm late to this, but man, Bob Cole is my favorite of all-time. You talk about Gretzky saying things like "go to where the puck will be, not where it is". Bob Cole seemed to have his own version of this. It was like he had a premonition of which plays were going to end in big goals, saves, hits, etc. He could slowly ramp up the intensity of his voice over 10-15 seconds and let it crescendo exactly at the height of the intensity of the play. All through high school and university I would be studying with HNIC on in the background. Bob Cole was unlike any other in his ability to let me know when to look up or pay attention to the TV. His voice perfectly captured when something major was happening.

I don't know why this is so complicated. Pettersson said he wouldn't talk contract until after the season. The season hasn't ended. It is certainly frustrating from a fan/management perspective given that other decisions can't happen without first settling the Pettersson contract. In some ways it is frustrating that Pettersson is this stubborn. But moreso, it is annoying as all hell that we have to hear about this every week from Friedman/Dhaliwal. Certainly there are more important stories in the NHL?
